Help with BOV choice

well, why is it on allllll these youtube videos i can hear the turbo and the BPV very loud and clear?? look on youtube at the Cobb SRI, or better yet

all of these are stock with intakes..

That's not the turbo. As I said, that is the sound of air being sucked through the open air filter. The turbo on the MS3 is the size of a cupcake, and is not capable of making significant noise.

EDIT: Not sure I understand your comment about all of those being with stock intakes, when all of those videos specifically mention either a CAI or an SRI. Hmmmmm......hardly stock. Either way, that's intake noise, not turbo.

Umm, YES you WILL be able to hear the stock BPV with a short ram.. That's all I'm saying, not gonna argue with anyone.

The Cobb SRI actually makes the car sound quite nice. Intimidating? Maybe a little if you really rev it up and or punch the accelerator. But yeah you hear the "sucking" more than anything and you can hear the stock bpv which is kinda cool.

I have the Injen cold air intake, and not only can you feel it but you can sure as hell hear it. The sucking sound when the turbo spools is awesome. I love how my car sounds. As far as the VTA causing drivablity issues and what not you could always do what i did. I bought a HKS with a recuirc fitting. When i wanna add the oh so sweet sound of VTA i can, and when i wanna go back i can, with out putting on the leaky stock BPV. The drivablity issues are kinda exaggerated in my experience, but it is quite a bit smoother on recuirc. Also you dont get the occasional burble and backfire. At least this way you could try both.

well heres the real question does having the 50/50 bpv pretty much equal our stock bpv cause i mean come on it leaks so much its retarded, i hav a forge bpv arriving tuesday ill install it and let u guys know by the end of next week of what i think

Dude, i said "all these are stock WITH intakes" go re-read, before you bust my balls bro

I was going to go synapse, but its too much of a PIA to go back to stock with that thing and the txs is cheaper.

if you want to replace the stocker for fear of leaking, then you have to choose between an all aluminum replacement bypass valve, like the TurboXS RBV, OR, if you want to accentuate the sounds while satisfying the ECU's recirc needs, get the TurboXS hybrid. If you put an open element filter intake on your car, you will hear sounds anyway, even with a stock valve or replacement full recirc bypass valve, so might as well make the most of the experience and get the hybrid valve.

The hybrid valve won't cause any issues whatsoever.

/thread.

I hear the turboxs hybrid is a great bov to replace stock bpv with and sounds great too.

So does anyone have a direct replacement for the stocker BPV that they can provide any suggestions on? I have the MS CAI and if the stocker is prone to leaking, I just want to replace it with something that holds boost better but works in the exact same way.

The TurboXS BPV is a direct bolt on replacement.
