Has Anyone Broke the Stock Rear Motor Mount?

I'm curious how much torque the rear motor mount can take. I don't want to swap it out, but want to make sure it can hold up.

Why on Earth would you not want to swap it out? It's like a whole new car with a good mount. You don't know what you're missing.

i am a little curious bout this as well. I really dont want to swap mine either. fine, i'll give you my reasons:

1. Dont want any extra vibes
2. has anyone really taken into consideration how much extra strain that places on the other mounts? I would imagine that it would increase the likelihood of the other mounts breaking.

I think that can be argued both ways. Since it reduces engine movement, you could say it reduces strain on the other mounts.

ya I also think that the amount my motor was moving with the stock torn mount was streessing the upper mounts.

1. The vibe that the 88 PG mount is PERFECT. Its not like a honda K series swap mounts or something like that were it feels like something is wrong with the car. No one that sat in my car every even noticed it. I do, but in a good way. It feels muscley, and the drivablity after the mount was awesome. It took alot of the slop out of the shifts. Its one of the best and easiest mods ive ever done. I took longer to lift the car than it did to install.

2. I would think that the amount that the engine moves before you install the upgraded mount (youtube that crap its insane) would certainly add more strain to the other mounts than with out. Because the engine doesnt move it transfers the torque to the drivetrain.

3. Get it you love it.

The problem is it shifts the strain in different axis. Stock, the engine rotates forward and aft on torque. With a stiffer rear engine mount, the engine rocks diagonally from the drivers side toward the front right side. I just don't think this is good on the drivetrain and like Mastadon says, I don't like the idea of having all those extra vibes.

when you beef up one week point it finds the next week point. i think thats why some others are having issues with motor mounts breaking after the first recal. bolt used to break now mount breaks.
