hdr is hard to do with motion in the background unless your camera can shoot in bracket and take 3 shots at once with different exposures..

but they are looking good so far

Those aren't that cartoony compared to other programs such a Photomatix.
Very nice first efforts

we should start an HDR thread since so many people are getting into it.

In theory, you can make an HDR image with a moving subject. It involves using one base exposure and using PS to simulate the other exposures.

This is not HDR-related but for water scenes, I suggest experimenting with an ND filter. You'll get a blurred flowing water effect vs a still frozen water scene.

i would like to try and get better, clearer shots but i just have a canon s5 sd so i dont think i can get hardly any filters for it the still water shots like you said

Your S5 can do manual mode. You can change ISO and shutter speeds right? Use that!

Sorry for being a picture *****, I'm working from home today since we got a huge dump of snow and there was no way I'd make it in to work.

As mentioned, the S5 is a damned good point and shooter so don't feel bad.

I'd be rocking it right now if I wasn't such a Leica fanboy.
