looks sweet man. i know a guy up here in northern kentucky who has a silver msp as well w/ evo hood. looks identical and very nice!

Looks great! I'm thinking about getting the hood myself. How did the install go? Does it come with the hood pins or is that something seperate you have to get?

The install is super easy, the hood pins however are a whole nother ball of wax. I actually baught the hood from another member and the pins were already installed but the guy I got it from said they were a resl bee-otch to install.

Well it still looks good. If you get a chance could you possibly get a pic under the hood where the pins go (where they are mounted too), I would just like a general idea of placement.

I'll snap one at lunch for ya. and hopefully get a better overall photo as well.

edit: fyi you'll have to remove the front bumper to intall the pins.

Well today will be the first time I've removed the front bumper. I've got some HID's for the fogs so I've got to mount the ballasts behind the bumper. It doesn't seem like it will be hard to remove it. I never saw a "how-to" on removing the front bumper. I wouldn't think there is much holding it on.

Are they universal pins? I wasn't sure if you got them with the hood. Are they all the same?

removing the bumper isn't too difficult just take your time.

the pins are Sparco, and they're universal

That's perfect, thanks! Did you have to remove the headlights to get to those spots or is just removing the bumper enough?

idk why it needs hood pins..the VIS uses the factory hood latch (or at least mine did) .. i'm the one from Northern KY that blueprotegelx mentioned

I've heard that the hoods "float" sometimes depending on your speed. I don't have any experience with the hoods but I've heard a little of both, some "float" and some don't. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it without the pins.

it depends on how they are made if the have the right framed skeleton they you shouldnt need hood pins. so if you find a really high quality CF hood then you should have no problems. i want the same hood but trying to find one with a good skeleton to keep it nice and stiff. not sure about the one on protegegarage though from what i heard you need hood pins with that one

dumb question. If it happens to rain, do they have some sort of cover for the vents?
