I was just wondering after reading another post talking about cycling if MS3 drivers are any roadies or racers.
Any cyclist?
I'm a CAT 1 Racer and been racing since 15.

Training: SystemSix with Dura-ace/SRM Crank
Racing: Cervelo Soloist SL with SRAM
TT: Cervelo P3C
Track Bike: Cervelo Soloist converted to Track.

Before I joined the Navy, I rode my Specialized Allez Sport 120-150 miles a week for 4 years. I sold my road bike when I got to California because work doesn't allow much time to ride anymore, but I still mountain bike on the weekends. When I get out and move back to Texas, I'm getting a Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL2. We live close to each other Ebruess, maybe we can ride together some day.

I sold my road bike when I got to California because work doesn't allow much time to ride anymore, but I still mountain bike on the weekends. When I get out and move back to Texas, I'm getting a Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL2. We live close to each other Ebruess, maybe we can ride together some day.

Sounds like a plan but I'm moving to Indiana soon to go to school and ride for a pro team.

I ride a Fisher HKEK for road and trial. I've been wanting to get a road bike, 20+ mile roads on a mtn bike, even with the front fork locked, would be more fun on a road bike. you get paid anything riding for a team?

I'm a runner, aka, aerobic activity junky. I'm running the Boston Marathon in April and one day later getting on the Appalachian Trail in PA. to backpack for a week to ten days. I'll be sore from the marathon but I'll go slow and easy for the first few days. I used to own a road bike but sold it recently due to not using it very often. I'm addicted to running and can't go more than a couple days without running before I start having withdrawal issues.
My wife says I get cranky if I don't run.

Once I start riding for a pro team in a couple months I will start being paid after racing. I have major withdrawals if I don't ride one of my bikes in 24 hours. I spend about 5 hours a day on a bike.

I was a cyclist until I started my own company... Now all I do is intake high-end road, MTB and Tri bikes through my business "Trade-Up". All I ever get to do anymore is watch from the sidelines as most times I am busy taxing bikes to and fro which is why I just finalized a deal on a 08.5' Speed3 GT as I need to get bikes everywhere and in a HuRrY!!! The System Six is a nice bike but the Soloist... that is the SheOt. VERY nice ride! Had a Cervelo R3 SL with SRAM Red on it a few weeks ago and it was 15lbs of sweetness that, when I saw it, I was on like Oprah on a baked ham. But now-a-days there are so many fantastic bikes at all price points that it really parallels the automobile industry very closely in many ways. There are few cars out there that would qualify as "bad". Ditto for the bikes. Today you get remarkable value in a car with features and safety we could only dream about just 25 years ago. Same for bikes.

And the last "bike" related thing I wanted to say in relation to the cars of today is that the fit and finish of the modern automobile is phenomenal, especially when looked at from a historical prospective, but it pales in comparison to the incredible engineering and finish work of high-end bikes. A lot of ex aerospace engineers have found their way into the cycling industry and it shows. Bikes like the Cervelo Soloist, Trek Madone SSLX and Colnogo Ferrari are pure sex with paint and engineering that could rival some F1 teams. Now if only all that frame building technology would trickle down to the car industry... we'd have 1850lb Mazdaspeed3's and 2900lb SUV's that get 34mpg.

Glad to see there are some other outdoor junkies on the board. Mtn biking, road biking, running, kayaking (surf and river), hiking, climbing, etc. It's all good.

It's nice to have (or want in my case) a functional car like an MS3 to take you to and from adventures quickly, in style an with plenty of room.
