Sunday morning Cruise in Connecticut-March 9th

I'm leaving Florida today and dreading going back to the cold climates...I sure am gonna have fun changing my oil this weekend! I might just take my brakes to be done somewhere...it's too f-ing cold out!

Well, I'm flexible on that. If the weather is nice, we can swing up to Barkhamstead and check out the rez, great photo op. Or we could cruise up towards limerock and loop back. I don't really care where we go as long as I can have some pancakes!!

Sweeeeeeeeet!!! (lol2) meow!

Did you guys figure out a meeting place and time for sunday am? I may have just missed it.

now as for the route, I was thinking this...
The res run paints the background for a sunny morning romp. Rt 219 has some nice corners to carve. I love this road and I try to drive it every chance I get. The Barkhamsted resevior makes a great little pit stop.
Coming back down west hill road to Niles rd/ cedars ln and back into torrington on 202.
There's a dinner right near there, I think we can get pancakes there.

This route is a bit shorted than I had originally planned, but the last time I went cruising up there, we just rolled around till we started seeing signs for mass, lost about 4 hours that night

I forgot about daylight savings time, is everyone ok with meeting at 9am?

9am sounds good to me! and the diner on 202 is pretty decent. I've never been there for bfast, but I know they have a good monte carlo.

this is so cool! we're actually having a meet in t-town! yay!

on a sidenote, I changed my oil + filter today in the rain...sure does suck not having a garage! I think I'm gonna do my brakes after the meet since it's supposed to rain all day on Saturday. If anybody cares to stick around we can drink some beers or somethin...

that sucks having to work in the rain, but hey, at least it isn't snow. I was going to change the oil in the snow, but I said fuk it and paid the $20 to have it done at work.

hmmm pancakes!!!

BUMP! 9am, commuter lot off of exit 44 if you're taking rt 8, near the intersection of rt202 and 44.

If you need more details, I'm at work for another hour 1-800-784-1455 or pm me and I'll give you my cell next time I log in, which will probably be around 10 tonight.

Unfortunately I am a no go too. I have to go get hay for my horses tomorrow AM.

Wow, I'm really sorry! This is terrible! What a nice P5 that was. Like others, glad that you were in one piece. Looking at one of the photos, I can see the whole width of the road was black ice :/.

yeah where the water crossed the road it basically made a little skidpad of ice. the city hadn't sanded or salted that road either, which didn't help (shrug)

Yeah it was so awful! We were leading in the miata and hit the ice first and spun around about 90 degrees, Mazdamia had to stop to avoid hitting us, and Jeffrey just happened to be the last one in line and had nowhere to go but either into Mazdamia or into the tree. Everything went all slow-mo as it was happening- I can't believe such a nice cruise turned into such a nightmare in just a few seconds.

BJ's really sick this morning, think it may be the flu, so I'll post up later today the one pic of us before we set out on the doomed cruise.

boy I would have been a gonner if I had my miata out yesterday. Summer only tires + ice = dead miata.

that sucks that everything kind of hit the fan..

I hope the big guy gets better too.
