Deleting resonators and muffler?

For the love of God, do not get any sort of glass-packed muffler/resonator. That stuff melts and blows out over the course of a month or two, then the whole system is actually louder than before.

Get a high-quality resonator like Magnaflow. Go stainless if you can.

Is it worth having warranty and emission problems?

You will only have emissions problems if you remove a cat, mufflers and resonators only produce a little back pressure and reduce the decibels of an exhaust system. Only should worry if you mess with the catalytic converters.

Anything after the cat converter will have a negligible impact on emissions...once the exhaust gases have exited the converter they aren't going to get dirtier or cleaner because of some tubing or chambers.

Just be cognizant of your local laws on exhaust noise & modification.

na the definition of a resianteor is the straight through desigen with hundreds of little wholes to pick up the air thats what that "muffler looking thing is" a true muffler has chambers etc..

An exhaust resonator is a tuned cavity designed to invert the sound waves to reduce sound transmission in a certain frequency range by cancellation. A resonator can also be used to positively reinforce certain frequencies as in the body of a violin. A muffler is designed to attenuate noise across the frequency spectrum, although none are without peaks and valleys when viewed in the frequency spectrum.

Resonators are used to flatten the frequecy response of the exhaust, the muffler is used to reduce volume. All resonators provide some muffling, and all mufflers affect the frequency response to some degree.

What "sounds" good is very subjective. If it sounds good to you, I suppose it may be worth the trouble to you.

I like the stealth aspect of the stock exhaust. I had Supertrapps on my 5.0 Mustang and the drone became very irritating. I won't go there again.

When I hear a car driving down the street with a loud exhaust it just makes me think (ricer)

I think people need to stop associating noise with performance. There's some pretty quiet cars out there that are frighteningly fast.

The last thing you should want is to draw attention from the police. If they hear you coming from half a mile away they are going to have their eye on you when you go past. Sleeper FTW.
