Interesting photos. I think London could be really inviting for photographers so long as you stay away from the cliched images. You've done that here...but what else can you do before you leave? Feel challenged; your time in London is a wonderful opportunity for you.

It's not photoshopped. It was color dodged. I have the 2 Works on the rear now since I blew a tire and currently waiting for replacements.

I'll have more from this photoshoot later, but I wanted to share this one with you guys for now.

(For the record, it was semi-staged and I really wasn't getting pulled over)

haha last time I got pulled over, I had my camera on the passenger seat and reallllly wanted to take this picture, but i chickened out, i regret it now cuz thats an awesome pic

The clock tower shot is ridiculously over exposed.
And I personally thought flyin hawaiin's pic was great
I love how the white cars stand out against the dark background

were both of those pictures taken in roughly the same spot? Looks like maybe Willard in the background of the shot with the cop

Do I detect another Penn Stater?

Yep, Willard is down at the right side of the picture beyond the Cop. The handicap ramp in the background is for Schwab Auditorium and the One Way signs are for the driveway in front of Old Main.

yeah '06 :)

Just curious as to why you closed down to F/16 for that Old Main shot, going for DoF to get the car and old main in focus? I like the time lapse effect with the taillights going by, at first I thought you drove by with a slow rear flash, then I realized the car is parked.

I wanted to get the DoF with both subjects in focus, but I also usually shoot in aperture priority, so I set the f-stop to get the shutter speed I was looking for. I found that with a small aperture and a long exposure, I can get the 'stars' around the lightbulbs to get more of a 'dreamlike' effect. The added bonus there was the car that drove through my shot after I hit the go-button. I was pissed at first, but after seeing the results, I was pretty pleased.

Needless to say, between the cop car and the shots in front of Old Main, it was a lucky night to be taking pictures. Or maybe it was just the magic of Old State...

Ah, good to know about the stop down and exposure! Were you using a cable release? Really neat pics...

Thanks man! No cable release, although I should get one. I just set the timer on the camera and waited the 10 seconds for it to shoot. The poor-man's (aka college kid) way of not knocking the tripod / camera when taking a long exposure like that. I need to buy a cable release tho... it would make things sooo much easier sometimes

Few from the weekend - 6 PICS

Some hot spots from the sun again but was trying some new things without using reflectors or lights, always learning something new.

was using 2 cameras Canon 5D with a 16-35 and a 30D with 70-200 for the shots.
