driver, your sig is wrong

I had a bc, intake and testpipe. I was trapping only 107 at the time. He was trapping as high as 111-113. I believe he would have trappe even higher on slicks. My car will easily be trapping around 113-115 the next time I go. Time will tell, as of right now its only speculation. But Im pretty good at my guesses. Ive been doing it a while now.
Chris (laloosh) is driving that s*** outa his and I wont take that from him. We will for sure be battling as soon as the track opens up. We will have similar mods and running the exact same wheel and tire setup. We will see who lays down the 60fts. Im hoping for mid 1.6s.

Actually expect to lose about 2 mph on slicks.

!.600 thats alot to ask of this car. Some drive train parts must suffer to hook that well. Regardless of driver. I assume you are prepared for these dramatic occurences!.

Not a fair COmparison IMHO..Thats Strictly a track car....WHere His is a Street car.
Not even in the same class.
Just beacuse its a MS3 Body..dosn't make it an MS3.

IM not gonna start this debate but isnt gonna happen. Especially in this short geared tire frying bastard! Sorry I have to many years of drag racing experience in a high powered fwd to know better. Once your at this powel level the slicks make up enough in the first 1/8 to counter all if any loss in the top half, mph and et wise. Thanks for the thought though.

Sure. But i can tell you from MY experience. At 8 psi. in the slicks, I lost 2 MPH and gained anywhere from .2 to .5 seconds...

Dude..Its a fact....If you hook..your time may be faster..But TYPICALLY..Your MPH will be lower.

Spinning yields quicker MPH's and slower times.
Nothing to argue..Its just Physics and Facts.
I only understand one.

I cut 1.6s in two other fwds and I plan to do it again in this one. The only issue I see is the fact i will have to shift in the first 60. But who says i cant launch in 2nd if need be?!?!?!?!?

Like I said Im not gonna start a debate. I know from personal experience. Like I said I have 10years of racing a fwd and 3 track championships. I know Physics says one thing but what actually happens out there is another story but.

Ill give you two examples and then Im done.

From my personal experience.
stg3 srt street tires 12.5@117. 2.1 60ft. Spinning all the way into 3rd. then same night same car.
stg3 srt slicks 11.7@122 1.75 60ft. spinning only in 1st and part of 2nd.

50trim srt street tires 12.5@121 spinning really ******* hard through 3rd
50trim srt slicks 11.4@125 spinning only in 1st and part of 2nd.
Same exact car same night.

Thats just two examples that I will give, I have many many more.
Once u hit a certain power level the amount you lose in the first 1/8th can not be made up in the top in on street tires. its just to much
But the amount you gain on slicks is more than enough to justify the little bit it will lose up top. Its simple MATH MY FRIEND.

I Did Say TYPICALLY..Hence no arguement from me.
Everything has an exception.
A good driver is a very good exception.

Physics actually says exactly what your examples demonstrate. Spinning your tires wastes energy and traction, the more you do it, the less efficiently you use the limited length of track you have. It's that simple.

im not here to battle driver, we will be runing the same slick, however this will be my first time on slicks lol. I'll be happy with mid 1.7s

if nebody wants to challenge my street tires time, best of luck to you(enguard), your gonna need it(glare)

MY personal opinion is there will be few and far in between runs in the 12s on full street tires. Drag radials yes but street tires no. I think Chris has set a nice benchmark and not many will ever touch it.

Chris Im sure mid 1.7s will come no problem. I was hitting 1.80 with 24s and ripping the tires all the way through 2nd. BAD!

Here is an engine pic:

Needs a bigger turbo...

Hey, where are you from? I go to Penn State and have seen a Red MS3 with similar rims (black with red stripe). It's not you is it?

Hey driver nice to see you got sponsored by ptp...what did they hook you up with? I can't wait to see what the red machine does this year!!

Its at the point traction occurs that drive train components see full shock, I am led to believe if you can feather that slick in you will kill the clock but 60 will still be weak. Second week of ownership took to track (Leicester N Y} Stock tire, second gear produced best time of night for me 14.02 102. There might be something to what youy said? eh
