Ha, I never really ventured out of the 3rd Gen forum until a former MI member sent me a message and got me interested in the MI forum. It's not the best time of year to find it, but I'm hoping we can get a few more people that will start showing up in the next few weeks if we get a break in the weather.

yea, if i come out i'm coming solo for sure. she's not really into the whole import scene and i don't even wanna hear her say anything. she hates my car so i can only imagine what she'll say about anyone else's.

I'd really like to get one in March or early April. I will talk with Kane when the weather starts to warm up and we'll make a call. This year will be much much easier for me to coordinate drives since I've got a new job, so my goal is to get back to doing one a month. Have you ever been on one?

Hey kind of off topic but I was wondering if you get any hassle about your tint in metro Detroit. I really want to get mine done but I don't want problems, or have to take it off. I was thinking 35 or 30% all the way around. Also, where did you get it done?

tubebrner- i used to get harassed with my focus 5% all the way around but with my mazda i dont have any problems. i think cops are more worried about getting money from people at this point. s*** i've been doin 85 on 94 headed out to belleville and blown by 'em but they're waiting for easy catches now. they want the people doing 90-100 and weaving through traffic as long as you're in traffic not weaving and keeping pace with the cars around they wont bother you on the freeway and on surface streets use your blinkers and don't go more than 5 over and they wont pull you over either.

goldwing- though i'd love to watch her get beat by whatever you got going on she's not about turns and curves, shes all about straight up power and straight aways and unless you have the power to straight up get her off the line and keep her a length or two behind i'm gonna say the camaro wins. i've driven it and its a beast. with the tuning and all that shes done to it's just a monster. my speed3 barely hangs on to her rear bumper.

the power to weight ratio shes got going on isnt bad at the crank shes got around 410 on the hp and around 430ish on the torque in a 3500lb car so its not as hefty as most would think. and shes planing on ripping out some weight this weekend. the frame and sub frame have been strengthened too. the only she needs a 9inch and the powertrain is golden.

like i said though, i dont know what you've got going on so no disrespect.

personally, i could careless about what anyone drives if your're happy with it then thats all that matters. but to her i'm a "ricer". i think any japanese car that has american parts on it isnt rice. but hey thats just me. i mean i can see a bunch of FoMoCo parts under my hood. but half the s*** thats under her hood is made outside the US. you know?

I have a much lighter car, so I have less weight to overcome off the line and also a much higher-revving engine, so less time spent shifting. It would depend on a few other factors (length of course, her gear ratios, etc) but it would be a close (and fun) race. (2thumbs)

The Hoodlum is 107HP per 1000lbs and a flatter powerband due to the supercharger.

i dont know what your car is. if its your avatar, what is that a Lotus? or if its the 3 you have listed (but i doubt that its the 3 as you are definitely not running over 300hp on the motor with what you have listed at least that would be my assumption). and I don't know what a "hoodlum" is other than the thugs that run up and down my block. if the lotus is what you have running, i can see that being the winner as less weight would be a pretty big factor. lotus' weight what? maybe 2000lbs? on the other had she has an LS1 not an LT1 and with an auto no shifting is needed she could possibly get you off the line as LS1's are known for being faster in automatic trim. but i really dont know. i call drivers race.
