I talked with TRZ and they would be happy to make that mount for us but they need the oem driver side mount to make a new one. They also said they would do the other mounts besides the tranny and driver if that was also sent in. Does anyone have extra mazdaspeed 3 driver side mount available for them to use( the driver side mount is the one that has been failing)

TRz already has the rear tranny mount which is already available.

Here is the email address

trzmotorsports@yahoo.com

lets get this started. I think Protege garage is also working on this but if someone already has the mounts available, we could get it done faster thanks

why bother with the side mounts?

imho its not worth it unless you're going to make the car fully race prepped. If you're going to drive it around town at all then its better to just do the rear mount.

we actually are already getting one developed with them just like the rear one we had made so just stay tuned...

We actually went and purchased new mounts from the dealer for both sides.

you guys rule, i still dont trust the "fixed" side mount even though mine never gave me any trouble. After reading truboost breaking his 3 times already, tis bound to happen, esp on slicks

I wouldn't mind getting new mounts but I'd want all three. Just the driver side and rear would probably put more pressure on the passenger side. Best just to do them all.

mount

because as somone mentioned earlier some people have broken the recalled mounts after they were repaired.

Im not satisfied just driving around town in this car. I want to enjoy it more than that.

you are late to the game !!! TRZ already has both side mounts in the mail to them, as well as the mounting bracket for the driver side. i posted this in some other threads, the mounts will be here soon enough.

TRZ mounts FTW! I am VERY impressed with my rear mount.

the benefit is not having your engine drop to the ground like has happened to MANY members. even those who have had the dealers replace them with that wonderful magic bolt.....mazda is funny. they blame the bolt and not their half assed POS mounts. if you hear ANY clunking in your car going over bumps or when driving hard, bring it in right away. like i said, i have torn 3 of these mounts.

I agree totally the mounts are a poor design but many people (including myself)have never had any issues before or after the recall and I stomp on it every chance I get. 27k on the clock and no heavy vibrations or clunks. If you're tearing mounts either you're making some serious horsepower, abusing the car, or your dealer completely sucks.

you're late to the game yourself there sir. ;) I posted that before you.

I might me inclinded to think abuse... I've been hard on my car and haven't had any issues. I guess if you wheel hop like crazy and launch/shift abusively, then you'd have issues...

In a perfect world, I agree the mounts shouldn't fail due to your driving style. But, I haven't heard anyone complain about mounts (other than the 2007 model bolt that was loose) except for the tranny one (that one sucks!!)...

the replacement mounts aren't merely for peace of mind, they will offer a performance benefit in helping eliminate wheel hop further, etc.

i have the trz derlin mount and my wheel hop on the stock tires SUCKS i cant even get on it unless im in 4th. 1-3rd no matter what rpm, it will spin and then hop
