fuel pump finally working....im stoked kinda

<----getting lucky ftw, making money off my pump ft bigger w (not that i plan on selling it anytime soon ) ill sell it when my engine blows from running a map clamp on stock boost(screwy)

so yea....that thread made me fall outta my chair....funny as hell

sorry about my "immature posts" last night. I wanted to bring up a point to PG, and i'm sure they understand. The have taken responsibility, and given control of the fuel pumps to a more competent person. Thats more than what some other companies can say. I dunno why you can't say anything critical of a company tho, without someone else getting pissed off and start insulting you. they are just a company, not gods themselves. someone has to put things in perspective...

It's your whole approach. You come in spewing vitriol and your valid opinion kind of gets lost in all the bitterness.

As for the ethics of lawyers, politicians, and the like, I have to love the wounded idealism of the young and untested. Young engineers may be especially vulnerable to this sensibility. But I imagine even engineers get tested ethically once or twice in the course of their careers and I hope you pass your test whenever it comes.

I think Cap'n K has shown integrity and savvy at the same time and I can't get over how calmly and cooly he has responded to the situation. That comes with real world experience in a lot of different arenas. Way to go, Cap'n!

thank you (kiss)

You know, i was having a conversation with PG (captain), where i was critical of their process. He was right, i have been burned in the past. in fact, i have made mistakes and it has damn near costed me my job, and it was for much littler stuff than this. As i see it, PG has done the right thing, and taken responsibility, and given the job to the right person. The only thing i don't understand is why the parts were not tested 100% before they went out the door. however, this is a mute point, because again, they are turning the job over to the guy that knows the pump inside and out. So, in my book, PG is still good. While i would be a little worried about parts that were made under their name (why wouldn't i, they ****** up before), i would have no problem giving them my money for other stuff. what do i have to contribute? perspective, reality. like the TXS RP's, these should have been tested to see if they worked before they left the door. they weren't. so yes, this seems a little harsh, but PG has taken responsibility, and it's all good. so why, why do people have to come in and insult me for bringing up this point? and if i said i flipped burgers instead of being an M.E., would people still say i am acting as a god? i don't know why me being an M.E. makes people think that i think i'm god. I know that i don't know everything. hell, i dont even know much about this pump. i think some people are putting PG on too high of a pedestal sometimes, and that goes for other companies too. I could be in another area of this forum, and say some constructive criticism of Cobb or whoever, and i could expect the same result as i did here. If you are going to try and insult me about what i said, i will insult you back. you can expect that every time from me. Sorry!

again, PG, you are OK in my book.

What was wrong with the TXS race pipes?

they fit like garbage. they did not have a proper flange to mate up with the stock flanges. one side was ok, because they supplied a gasket. but the other side was a disaster... they expected you to kinda force it on top of the exhaust donut using hardware that was too short. it just didnt work. they have since come out with a fix for it tho... but the point still remains: why did they let this piece of garbage leave their plant in the first place? did they ever try installing it on a car themselves with the same hardware they are giving their customers? if they did, but continued to sell it anyways, thats just sad... and why did it take so damn long to come up with a fix? at least PG jumped right on this issue (AFAIK)... TXS took months to come up with a solution.

There are devout TXS people out there that think releasing this stuff is ok. there are companies out there that would never think of putting their name on a part like that. there are people out there that will say "everything has a defect of some sort". to me, these are all just bad excuses. i think (but i dont know for sure) that other companies managed to realease RP's that didn't suck, so what was TXS's problem?

we added a donut flange after the first batch of ten. we modelled our prototype on thier prototype ironically (blarf)

sad thing is, we could have retained flat flanges and tri-metal gaskets with the pipes. however, the 'mazdaspeed' catback sold at dealers does not have machined flat flanges - even though the stock system on the car does! Every other system mated to ours leak free even with the lack of donut. So many people bought, use and love the MS catback that we had to accomodate them with a donut. the only reason we don't sell ours is that Corksport sells thiers, to us as well, at a far cheaper price with virtually the same features.

I have had my TXS race pipe almost a year and mine fit together just fine and is still fine. No leaks or anything. I'm a helicopter mechanic so I am used to figuring things out when they don't fit like a puzzle or the instructions aren't drawn out in crayon. Do I think they could have done a better job, maybe, but I don't think it was a disaster. They had to design that race pipe to work perfectly with their futrue turbo back exhaust, not the stock.

this is not a typical customer experience, but it is good that yours fit nontheless. no one is saying that none of them fit well, just that there were so many complaints that TXS pulled the plug on sales of the test pipe individually and now only includes them with the complete system.

well now you have to get the rest of the TurboXS crap ur I mean stuff. Mix and match usually turns out poorly with the TXS stuff...

lol... i was pretty disappointed when i was putting this pipe on my buddies car...

well, then they should have not sold it individually! it was smart of them to pull it back!

ahh, what a witty retort! in fact, i'm 23, make 60k a year (as a Mechanical Engineer, and last year my W2 actually said 62,394), and retaining an attorney was the first thing i did when i moved to this wretched state! maybe we can get your boyfriend on here so he can tell us about your defects!

That's a bit much Please don't attack. I don't really care who makes what or how you do it, we are just talking about recovery from a part issue not whose willy is biggest
