Dashhawk needs your help!

ny can you confirm they will be making them available in the software with their next release and not just on the dashhawk itself when attached to the car?

Ken said that the offical 2.4will not have the mazda pid's rather they will relese the 2.4 and go foward with beta's with mazda updates regularly

no i had to do it with the unit in the car. the mazda specific stuff isnt available to see in the program yet. i think that will be in their next release which is either tomorrow or monday.

i have the mazda spesfic pids!

Really? How did you do that? As bova mentioned, I thought Ken said we wouldn't be able to access the Mazda PID from the PC software until the next release?

I was able to setup mazda PIDs from the interface. The way you do it is select the display editing. Decide how many sensors you want to watch.. from the dropdown, select the PIDs for each box or line and youre done.

All datalogging has to be done obviously from setup with the DH inside the car. After that, its easy to do datalogging after your intial settings.

Yeah, I was able to do this no problem from the DH itself. I recorded a bunch of logs for Ken the first day he released the update. I'm just wondering if he was able to select them from the PC software. From Nypest post it seems that he was able to.

I never bothered to set up the datalogging from the PC side. MY DH sits in my car and the only time i bring it in is to update it. Ill look into it when im playing with it again.

bingo

hmm, i used the PC interface to make the last of the 7 parameters the AFR....i did this by going to 'fuel' and all the way at the bottom there is a selection for OEM wideband AFR.

when i installed this thing back in the car, it idled at 14.7 or so and seemed to work just right when i was driving and it says "AFR" for the parameter name on the unit.

Ok just so I get this right, you're saying you CAN'T see the Mazda PIDs in the PC software???

The only reason I ask is because bova said he did it from the unit as well and that we won't be able to do if from the PC software until next release. Then you came back and said that you have the mazda pids. So since bova was talking about the PC software, I assumed you were talking about it as well. Correct me if I'm wrong.

No Jay, you can see the PIDs, its just not listed as MAZDA specific like the others at the bottom. Im sure this will change as more PIDs are introduced and get a Mazda sub-section in the PID group. Right now you have to hunt and peck to get to the PIDs.

Ahhh... I see what you mean now. Ok sorry for all the confusion and dumb questions. Brain fart or something (dunno).

Thanks guys. I do a lot of stuff with the DH at my desk at work so I like to work with the PC software as much as possible. This helps a lot. :)

I've been busy all day and just wanted to say thanks for the help.

I wish there was a way to power the DH from the USB connection so you can scroll through the menu on the unit while at the PC, this wouldn’t be a big deal if the display on the PC was the same as the unit but its not. Thats my only real gripe.

Don’t worry as soon as they can get all the Mazda specific stuff worked out it will be worked into an official release and you will be able use the PC software to set up your profiles including the Mazda stuff......

Small update from 1-29-2008 over at DH

We're aiming for the end of the week/beginning of the next week for the final test release before we move this over to production.

As soon as this hits production, we'll launch the Beta 1 for the next round of Mazda...

so i was looking at the configuration on my dashhawk this morning and noticed if i wanted the instant mpg and avg mpg screen to show up i had to turn the mileage max feature off, seems backwards to me. when i had it on it wouldn't show up as one of my display screens.
