F-N fast and thats all I gotta say!!!!!!!Oh wait this turbo cant be pushed that hard right?????(drive2)

LOL. from the compressor map looks like the stocker is capable of 24psi with proper fuel and is capable of pushing out 330-350whp max from the volume of flow its able to produce. i might be reading it wrong, correct me if so

its safe if your A/F ratio stays under 12.0 across the rpm range. This car runs richer than most would like.

Turning up the boost is never "safe"! But it sure is fun! What does the boost fall to if it falls any? Is it a spike or a steady fall, tell us a little more...?

but i saw dyno runs made by Jordan and the graphs showed where going above 18psi was pointless the car made the same power at 19 psi as 18psi. suposedly this is an indicatiion the turbo is running out of steam-effeciancy=hot air=blown turbo=knock=zoom boom.

The afrs are still in the high 10s. I can tell you this. When I go through the gears and shift to 5th at 6k. The boost hits 22psi and holds rock solid to roughly 5500 and then drops to 20psi by 6250 when I shift. Afrs are good and the thing is moving. 4th gear roll ons spike 24psi real quik and settle down to 21ish psi and then holds good all the way through. I love it. If you have the fuel and the cool temps its awesome. In the summer I plan on running 19psi on the street and 24psi on the track with sunoco 110. Im so stoked my car is doing this. its been such a frustrating road and now its coming together.

so you think the fuel pump helpswith this cuase your getting more fuel?, hey sounds awsome a really good find!! with the mods I have cuase I don't have the fuel pump

if i go to 18 to 20psi in 5th or 6th it sputters. I always though that was the bov giving out under too much pressure. But maybe since you fixed your sputtering problem by stretching that spring thing and have the upgraded fuel pump...

Im guessing the two fixed the problem. All I know is my car is off the hook right now. im stoked. Full corksport tbe goes on tuesday. Off to the dyno on racegas and high boost. (blowup)

can't wait to see your dyno numbers, i'll so can't wait to do what youve done.. That fuel pump is a ways off for me cuase of money... right now its testpipe, forgebov and dyno tune. then fuel pump , intercolooler etc as the years move foward...

....wow! hey imma wait to see how long you last on 22psi, not that i don't believe in the turbo.. but err ehh.. lets just see

Remember, he is also running one stage cooler plugs, so this will help him in higher boost.

Good job driver.. lets see what it does at the track with 24 psi.

I am proud that someone has finally grown some balls and tried for more. When I first got this car and then read that "300 whp" was the limit, I have to say I was pissed and starting to regret my purchase. I personally didn't think that 18 psi could have been the limit of this turbo, considering 18 isn't really that high. It is apparent now that I HAVE to get a fuel pump. It is a shame that Mazda put such low limits and so many restrictions on this car. For instance, youtube the new Caliber SRT-4 (FUGLY!). Anyway, thanks driver311 for pushing the envelope with this car. We need more enthusiasts like yourself. I shall be on as soon as I get the money lol. Granted, you have a freakishly strong MS3, but you still give me hope for this car. Now let's see some 12 flats in the 1/4!

I like to think about it this way...the more "restrictions" that mazda puts on the car, the more we will benefit from mods. For example, take two cars that make the same whp stock, except that one has a nice free flowing 3" exhaust and the other one has a drinking straw coming off the turbo. Which one would you rather have?
