2003 Midnight Blue Protege5
the fogs came in this weekend and the hid's came in today. they are both ebay stuff, but they look nice. the blue is a little darker than it looks in the pics, but it's close and the same for the yellow.

for all those who have taken pics of your HID's, how do you get the pic to come out so good? meaning so you can see the car and the color of the lights? i'm guessing it has something to do with the shutter speed? i know i'd need a tripod to get it to come out clear. any help would be great.

look cool, but the blue is, um, well, blue.

for night pictures, a tripod is a must have.

the blue looks white on the road though, it's much better than the silverstar ultras i had in there. i figured i'd need to break out my tripod, i was just to lazy to do it last night though. maybe i will tonight.

so i was being retarded and took some daytime pics... they didn't come out too bad though.

Looks nice, what kit did you use? how was the install?

i got a kit off of ebay, they are like $70 shipped. the install was supposed to be an exact fit, but i had to modify the rubber gaskets that came with the kit. over all it took about 30 minutes including the time it took to modify it. i think it was well worth it.

here is a link to one of the company's auctions LINK he also has auctions for hi/lo kits for those of you with the regular protege lights. they are like 120 shipped though. they a really great company and i told them i'd recomend their products so thats what i'm doing.

Looks good, but, can I suggest aiming the headlights down a bit?

And an Ebay kit? What kind of warranty did they offer? I'm just curious to see how long the ballasts last.

thanks, they are actually pointed as low as posible. they came with a 14mo warenty on all parts.

they are 35w 10,000k HID's so about the same as a 55w 8000k. the blubs are yellow, the glass is still clear.

how do you figure on that? you know that the higher the color temp, the LOWER the output, right?

yes, but i'm talking about how they apear, they are a little bit lighter blue than what i normally see as 10k with 55w and they are close to what i would normally see as 8k with 55w. thats how i figured that, i could be completely wrong though.

Which projectors you thinking on using? TSX? S2000? Infiniti bi-xenon? Also, which headlights? That'll more or less determine which projectors. If you're doing sedan headlights, I think Infiniti Bi-xenons would be best for you. TSX are only a low beam. I know Chicoloco has a set he's selling/trading. Start collecting the parts you'll need little bit at a time so it doesn't hurt so bad as one lump sum of cash

actually, i'm trying to do it with the p5 lights, but i want to go with dual projectors, i've been doing some searching and it looks like the mazda6 lights that have the dual projectors will work, but i haven't been able to measure the size of the projectors yet. my main problem is finding little ones that will fit in the high beam area.
