forge bov

ya, i know...i really want to get 235s, but i don't see any 16s in 235...^^;

there's a LOAD of 225/50/16s (in fact, RE-01Rs are only 117 each!), but when you start to depart from that, the pickings get slim...=/
Id do that. 245-5-16s will look like ballons on the speed.

Ps. Id check the wheels to make sure they fit!!!(drinks)

haha...ya, i knew ahead of time that the wheels would fit. here's a badly-taken pic of them:

i'm gonna have it powder-coated gunmetal and then pop new tires on there over the summer...:D

if you dont like the chirp you can put the red spring in and it goes away.
the red is a little stiffer than recommended, but it works. you just have to be carful with low boost venting. if you come off the throttle slowly you will get a little comp. surge. if you fully release the gas it vents fine with no issues. i actually run the red spring now. i am running 19psi, and just thought i could use the added pressure.

Would you recommend using the red if your runing 17 to 18 and will it hold? Thanks Because the blue spring with 2 shims wont hold long at all it seems like it spikes and then drops.

I am running the blue spring w/ both shims and it seems to be doing just fine. Don't notice any diff w/low boost venting either.

I installed the BPV this morning with the blue spring and no shims. I definitely notice it holding constant boost (18 psi) much better. It also does seem to improve responsiveness but that may just be my imagination. I had noticed some fluctuation in boost before (saw it on the gauge too) and that has vanished. The sound is pretty funny. Definitely sounds like a hammer hitting an anvil.

Yea, he scares the s*** out of people when they have their window down and you blast them.

OK so after discussing with a guy who had Forge valves on his Audi, I have what may be a dumb question.

Do these need to be disassembled and lubed routinely?

He told me that this was pretty common knowledge and that it was usually done when the oil is changed. You need to diassemble the entire valve and lube the piston. He said if this is not done you run the risk of it locking-up. Not a big deal but I dont want to do it if I should not or do not have to...

Anyone want to comment on this?

Thanks

hey dude so yours is loud? and its in recuric? or vta? i want recuric and the loud sound :)

As long as you have an intake, it will be plenty loud. Your sig says you have the MS version, so you should be fine. Honestly, any louder would be obnoxious...

Yes. Reciric. I have the MSCAI which may impact the sound. I really like the way it just holds rock steady on boost and then Pting! when you let off on the throttle... :)

Hmm i haven't heard this before and i didnt see anything maintence wise in the box about having to lube it. Anyone have opinions on this?

The same friend just forwarded me several posts from some audi forum areas. They discuss disassembly, cleaning and lube of the piston with Mobile One synthetic grease.

I just installed mine on Sunday. I used the blue spring with the 2 shims because it made the blue spring the same height as the yellow. Sounds real cool. I really like it!! But my boost still fades down as my RPMS go up and I have no idea if this is normal or not. It does fade lower now but.......Say I am on the freeway at 60mph and down shift to 4th gear and nail it. The boost goes to 15+ PSI right away and fades off rather quickly to 10-12PSI were it stays until I shift at just before 6000rpms. Is this normal?

My stocker does than now ! I believe this is the wastegate issue after 5200 rpm. Ms3 bleeds of boost hard after 5200. CDFP where are you ?(sssh)

Are you running a MBC?
