There are some here who seem to have some misconceptions regarding this device.
It is not an add-on "interceptor" type device. It literally rewrites the maps inside your car's computer. The ECU cannot "learn" the changes you make, because you have changed the ECU itself.
The first thing that happens when you use the device is that it makes a copy of the stock map in the event that you should need to restore the ECU to stock.
The second thing is that it loads the new map into the ECU. Once that is done you can put the AP in your house and go for a drive. Unless you want to change your map, you don't need it in the car. (it might have logging features - I think so, but I'm not positive).
There was a heated debate in another thread about using it with non-cobb recommended mods. The entertaining thing about the debate as an observer is that both sides were probably right. If Cobb developed maps based on certain upgrades being installed, it is probably a wise idea to stay close to those mods. On the other hand, Cobb will be providing the ability to write your own maps, so literally anything goes as far as mods are concerned, as long as you know what changes to make to account for your mods.
