Got beside me on the I-26 and waived at me, so I figure it was somebody on the forum. It has the newer bumper so it must be an '07 or '08 mazda3.

I have a 91 VW Cabriolet Etienne Aigner ed. that I passed down to my brother.....however, whenever I'd see a fellow VW, we would give each other thumbs-up and/or nod at eachother....we were both obviously VW enthusiasts and I still am,.....

however, now that I have my speed 3 (i've had it for over a year now) I notice that other speeds that have pulled up beside me have either revved me up or simlpy ignored me.....what's up with that? I mean, it's only happened once in each case, the revv came from a youngster (i'm 30 yrs old), the ignoring came from an old timer who just looked head on straight....both of these incidents took place on the fwy....

Cmon! We are a special class of car owners....we own the fastest car in it's class....not to mention the best-looking hatchback out there, way better looking than the Audi, VW Gti, Mercedes, the ugly Matrix, and the hideous Xc i think it is....all these hatchbacks are freakin abhorrent....i fI missed one, please list it...

going back to your comment.... If you got a wave, that would probably have been me, except I'm in California, so most likely not, hahah.....

Anyways....if you see a fellow speed3'ster....give a thumbs up or something.....

show some spirit!

I've only had mine a few weeks and I've already gotten a few waves from fellow MS3 owners. I feel like I'm in a special club :D

All the Speed3s I've also seen driving around down here have always given me a friendly flash of the high beams or a wave.

I was driving down 19th in SF (a few weeks ago), and I saw a CB debadged MS3 coming up on my right (I'm in my stock black mica ms3).
I used to own a VW and a have a few friends who are life long victims - er, owners, and I think the bond of VW ownership is kinda cool (if weird). I also know it does not seem to exist on other mass produced cars. BUT, this guy had a couple of mountain bikes on his (thule) roof rack, and I was rocking a 17 foot sea kayak on my (oem) racks. We were both moving faster than the flow of traffic, so I figure he's gonna say hey, right?
He didn't even look over as he passed, and at the next light when I gave a couple of quick short beeps and waved, I briefly got a look at this sunglasses before he sped off. WhatEV I 'spose.

This only happens in LA and SF bro...that's gay (no pun intended for you SF'ers).....I didn't know they made OEM racks for the speed3....well, mine is a thule too,.....dude, it's even more rare to see a speed3 with a rack on top...many wanna rice these cars out to make them look all FAST AND FURIOUS,..

i guess VW owners will carry that simpleness with them all their lives..even if they do own a Mazda....hey I love my mazda man, although I don't believe it's considered a rice car, even if it does come from japan...

I ordered the racks from japanparts, and it wasn't cheap, but I like the oem look. Makes the car look even more bad ass for some reason. I wound up picking up a beater pickup I use for hauling my kayaks, but my wife likes the racks (huhuhuhuhuhuhuh) so much she didn't want me take them down.
