Upgraded my wife's Mazda 3 Sport GT (Remote start, Auto dim mirror, iPod)

Started yesterday afternoon and took my time to make sure I did not break anything such as retainer clips and double checked my work along the way.

Started with the remote starter, the biggest challenges were getting the door plastic cover off and getting all them wires to fit inside the steering covers. The passenger hookup were a little awkward to crimp but everything worked the 1st try.

Moved on to the auto dimming mirror before I reassembled the pillar cover. That was pretty easy once I got the original mirror cover off the windshield.

Finally installed the factory iPod adaptor. I had already removed the radio before so I knew what was in store. Apart from having instructions for a right hand drive vehicule, the procedure was pretty easy.

I must say the instructions are very well deataled.

Wife is happy with my work.

Cheers.

Where do you pick up the power connection for the mirror? Is the connector waiting there behind the headliner or do you have to splice into the harness?

There is a separate harness sold to go with the mirror. It goes under the headliner, down the A-pillar, and connects to a wire block/harness behind the driver's side kick panel.

Thanks Justin, and thanks for the help with the MS3 Factory manuals!
