I don't think they'll make another MS6. Not at least till the model's on it's way out. I got one, so I'd really be delighted if they didn't make another.
As far as the new model goes, don't count out out anything just yet, not due to price consideration, at least. Mazdaspeed pulled a rabbit out of their hat offering everything in the MS6 as it is for the price, IMO. Talk about bang for the buck! I'm not worried about resale value, even despite the deep discounts.
...although they threw the claimed 5000 per year allotment out the window which didnt help.
Don't be disappointed... by my assumptive figuring, purely based on the latest recall vin count there were only about 10,000 of them built for the two years combined in N. America (6k-2006, 4k-2007), so there's your 5000 per year.
The way modders are blowing them up (not that there's anything wrong with that), unmolested survivors are only gonna be worth more. I also think the
survivors will appeal to slightly older buyers when resold, due to the relative modding difficulty being experienced now (as opposed to say, an STI or EVO). So a little patience and hanging on to your car for a while should pay off, especially if you can resist the urge to destructively mod (avoid the irreversible and keep stock parts). The MS3 will probably be more valuable over time than the MS6, just cause it's a badass little hot hatch. Trying to find an original example of an MS3, THAT will be rare.
