What have you done to your P5 today?

Cleaned/re-oiled my air filter (need to get an AEM) and cleaned the EGR (trickly little SOB). The car seems to be idling a little better and running a little smoother but I guess that could just be a placebo. I wanted to seafoam the valvetrain today as well but Advance Auto was closed - something about there being a holiday today? LOL, I guess I'll just have to do that tomorrow or Saturday. Maybe that will make a further improvement...

i got the egr valve off last night. =)

cleaned w/ brake kleen and lubed it with liquid wrench, i didnt take it out of the garage because it was really late, but i started it up and brought it up to temperature, and the engine seems to idle smoother, and the engine doesnt seema s noisy...

but of course it could be that placebo effect.

Installed my HIDs today. 5000k, and I received the 55w kit, not the 35w kit that I ordered. They're bright enough to give me a headache on the way home from my parents today. I think most of that was due to not aiming them properly yet, and reflecting all the road signs big time.

Did you get any problems from any cops? I want to get the 8000k at 55w due to the fact that at 8000k visibility diminishes but with the 55w it should make up for that....

No problems so far. Got flashed twice on the way home. I'm going to aim them tomorrow. I'm hoping that will reduce the issue a little bit. They are really high right now.

drive her for a bit. saw one of doctors from the country club driving his black s2000. he pulled up beside me and smiled xD hehe. that felt good

Well... one less MAM pipe in the world. I was working on it, initially to fix a hole in the weld, when it became apparent that patching it up would not be right. I escavated every part of the pipe. It seems like the pipe was nice quality, when it was first born, but it's since deteriorated greatly. The amount of work needed to make it functional would not be long lasting. It would have to be constantly repaired.

Washed and waxed the Bullet today. Turtle Wax Ice FTW!

You know I have thought about trying to sell mine too but, just don't figure I would really get anything worthwhile out of it. I think I'd rather just work on getting a 3rd car and driving this one into the ground. I have a 70 mile drive to work everyday and would love to get another car that I don't have to pile the miles up on........ I was looking at an 04 R32 the other day but the guy sold it already...... Might just end up with a Speed 3 or 6 one of these days....

Yea, I have pretty much decided to keep mine and run it into the ground as well.

My next additions to the fleet will be a 70's truck (75 ford F-100, still looking but that's prolly the closest to what I want) and 5.0 mustang, after that I will probably re-evaluate the situation. I would love a 96 Impala SS.

For the truck and the mustang, the initial cost of each should only be $1,000 or less, but the after market potential can run into the 10's of thousands haha.

The Protege5 needs to stick around forever, it's like the kid.

I've had mine for 10 months now, put 24k miles on it, and am enjoying every minute of it. I'm going to get the rust fixed after this winter and continue enjoying it. Now that I have 115k miles on it, I can justify buying aftermarket stuff to "fix" things.

Don't get me wrong, I love this car but it's now getting to the point where I'm spending money just to keep it driveable. I've had it for over 2.5 years and about 25k miles and enjoyed every bit of it but if someone offered the right price I'd probably sell. It's either that or I'm running her into the ground...

Your silver needles look good. I did mine as well, but they didn't come out as nice. I'm going to work with them one of these days when I'm bored.

Find a set of '03.5 MSP gauges and be done with it - that's what I did :) Yeah, I was trying to figure out how he had silver gauge faces and needles but no "Mazdaspeed" logo. Looks good.

Hey Thanks, they didn't turn out too bad. I didn't mask off as much as I should have and got some overspray but, they came out OK.
