...or do you all have an issue with people getting right up on the back of your car at a stop? I was sitting at a stop sign tonight waiting for my spot to turn out. I look in my rear view mirror and all I could see was a Chevy emblem! Every time I inched up, the Chevy emblem was right there! If all I can see is an emblem...They are too damn close! I finally turned out and saw it was a Tahoe.

This just drives me crazy. I can't stand people that close to the back of my car.

I think the back window plays a bit of a trick on the P5 driver, and cars look closer than they really are through the window...When I'm backing into a parking space that has a wall behind it or something, I'm usually like 2 feet away when I think I'm about to hit it....

I hear you. Michael and I were driving one day and i was saying to him how close the car was behind us. He turned around and said "that white car isn't that close." I told him not the white car, but the blue one. It was so close he couldn't even see it.

But I also think cars are a lot closer, just because of the hatch. I'm used to having a sedan, so cars appear further away, even if they are the same distance from the hatch, if that makes any sense. I'm tired and kind of just rambling

Well...I'm not one of those people. That drives me nuts, too. I had a guy in a Corvette yesterday, on the way home from work, and he was leaving like 5 car lengths in front of him and people kept cutting in front of him causing him to slow down even more.

But I have the same problem. It seems like people just have to late break behind me. Im scared to not run reds sometimes cuz people are in my ass and I dont wana break. Same with making a turn off a busy street.

But the problem I have that is the worst.....

IS PEOPLE PARKING NEXT TO ME! The whole lot can be empty but people will park right next to me! Grr. My car screams "Park next to me!" lol

No, it's not just you. I have that midwing thing & this makes what you're talking about even worse. Looks like it's about to touch the wing when they do that. Who can blame'em tho, P5s have such sexy asses that all the other cars wanna get close. Kinda like dogs sniffin up some strange dogs ass thing. Just gotta check it out, LOL

LOL, the Mini guys do this all the time because their rear wiper sprayer is at the base of the wiper and not under the spoiler like ours. They just remove the rear wiper and put a little cap in its place with a hole in it and presto! The Mini now can urinate on cars behind it. A guy I know in the Car Club back at school did this. For about a week everyone was afraid to be behind him. What sucks worse is that after he gets you - there's nothing you can do!

Back on topic; I agree that I think it has something to do with the position of the rear window on these cars. I used to flip out when cars would be "so close" that I couldn't even see their headlights anymore! However, one day a friend of mine parked behind me in the driveway at about the same distance so I got out and looked and it really isn't "too" close. I mean, it's still closer than I'd like but it is never as bad as I thought it was. Either way, if I can't see someone's headlights or like in your case all I see is a big emblem - they NEED to back off!

All you can do is tap twice on the brakes to let them know they are 'too close'. If they persist - just let them pass as soon as it is safe. I just don't give credit to the Ta'ho to realize; 'Hey! I am a jerk! I should just stop tailgating!'

I had a guy last night behind me who was going to turn and seemed to speed up after he put his blinker on. The guy in front of me was going slow. I tapped the brakes for him to back off & he flashed his brights at me! If he was going to turn, why did he have to speed up & get all up in my rear?!

I have the parking next to me issue, too. When I park in a parking lot, I try to park need an "island" because the parking spaces there are usually wider - like at WalMart. It helps, then I don't have Large SUVs with ignorant children getting out of the back hitting their doors into my passenger doors. I have kids, too, but I have taught them the respect of other people's vehicles and not throwing their doors open into other people's vehicles....Also, Child Lock helps this issue. LOL! If they have Child Lock on, they have to wait for me to open their doors. LMAO!

They are usually just so ignorant. He was turning as well, so he had to wait for me to turn out before he could. I had to wait for the flow of traffic to slow up so I could jump in. After he kept doing it as I inched up, I finally turned around and tried to give him the evil stare (upyours). I couldn't, though, because he was so close I couldn't see his windshield...Just grill & emblem. Obviously...Too close. I'm half tempted to cut myself some vinyl decals with Yosemite Sam...Like the mud flaps...With "Back Off!" on them. (rofl)

This drive me nuts as well but the ironic part is that I do it. Before you flame me, please hear me out. I do it when that car beside you just has to speed up and cut you off only to stop at the red light a few hundred feet away!!! (argh) Once the light turns green I back off and then pass them when I can.

Is it stupid? Yes
Do I know better? Yes
Why then do I do it? For whatever reason I guess it gives me satisfaction that 'I showed them'. (shrug)

**** that, I ahte people who ride my ass driving or stopped and i refuse to do it. I actually get angry when my friends ride asses and honk because people are going slow. Just chill the hell out it's probably some 85 year old lady she doesn't deserve taht kind of abuse. Thats my stand anyway.

Worst is when people get on your ass on hills and jsut assume everyone is driving an auto. I don't wanna have to do an uphill burnout just so i dont hit this asshole. I always give tons of room!

I hear that...plus if someone brake checks you, you could end up buying them a new bumper or worse. If someone is driving really slow in the fast lane I flash the high beams...if they dont want to move then I'll pass them in the right lane.
