03 msp Black Mica oh the sparkles they so pretty
i decided to take the hose off of the bpv that feeds back into the intake today(i guess would call it the exhaust side of the bpv), and found that when the system is under vaccum air is actualy sucked into my bpv. thus meaning its bad correct? no worrys i have forge bov on the way, but could this be the reason i dont hit full boost till about 4500 rpms??

also i reved it from under the hood and it also blows alittle bit of air out under pressure aswell.

Why? The BPV needs a vacuum source to do its job. Put it back unless you like risking compressor surge.

im not talking about the vac line, but the output end of the bpv(like the end that would normaly blow the air back into the intake upon shifting) this has vacum on it when idle, thus meaning its like a open valve. and it also lets air out while under pressure. i was just wondering if this could be the reason i boost so high in the rpms.

You still need the BPV hose hooked up so it serves its purpose. Its not recirculating the way you have it now.

As far as your boost goes, how many miles on the car and what mods do you have on it?

yeah i put it back. i only took it off to see if the bpv was bad, and found out that its pretty much open all the time.

i have 43,000 miles on it, i just got the msp about 4 months ago so all i have on it is a sri, boost gauge, and hks type 1 tt. boost comes on at about 3000rpms but only 1 psi, dont get to 7 psi till 4500-5000rpm. just wondering if that was normal, i've read of others hitting full boost at 3000-3500rpm. and it kinda sucks having to pretty much redline it to hit full boost ya know

Thats definitely not normal 1psi to 7psi. Where it settles is fine but it should not lag like that. Have you checked the exhaust manifold and other intake piping for leaks?

what were you trying to do? make it a BOV? ...car definately wont run right without the bpv hooked up right.

i was just testing to see if the bpv was sticking open. im a newb but not that much of a newb.
