Buzzing sound with Ipod in Aux

It's simple; i put a male-male from my ipod to the aux input. I've noticed that when the ipod is running power from the power outlet next to the aux, there is a buzzing sound from the speakers which changes along with my RPM's.

however, the buzzing is not present when the ipod is running off its own battery power.

any ideas?

You need a ground isolator, available pretty cheap from Radio Shack. Search - there are lots of threads on this.

it's actually a ground loop isolator. The one from radio shack is RCA to RCA. Since both the ipod and the ACI use 3.5mm plugs you may want to order a GLI from crutchfield instead. Their's is the only one I've found that's 3.5mm-3.5mm.

^^^ The first one listed there looks like the one crutchfield sells. Personally assuming the price isn't way off I'd rather go with an established store I've used before.

yup, bose stock.

i guess i'll make a run to radio shack. thanks.

!#@$@#$% damn it I thought it was my aftermarket install that was causing the noise and all this time Ive blamed my installer for this and not I come to find its also in the STOCK car....

Sorry Mazda dropped the ball on this one - Im sure they ran the aux input in parallel with the 12 volt wiring harness on the SAME side of the tunnel

*SIGH*... one more item to add to the list to do when fixing the stereo install (Had to drop half the gain on the amps just to kill the alternator noise)

I did the ground loop isolateor from radio shack, just have to buy extra adapters to make it 3.5mm...it work just fine, no more buzzing. the sound is clear. I just saw this threadjust now, did this mod two days ago.
