guess my turbo seals are toast

yea i would agree your seals are going...Do you not let the car run a few min before shut down after you have ran it..Doing so can prolong the life of any turbo or they could have failed due to a manufacture defect simply just a bad part so bout your luck hope all works out for you

which brands?

All catalytic converters gone?

Yeah, no cats. I thought this was just b/c of the floating seals on our turbo. Take out the cats and smoke gets through that you don't notice with the cats. Haven't there been 4-5 threads on this?

Okay, so I was just looking at this same thread on the other forum. Concensus seems to be the lower backpressure of having no cats allows the floating seals to leak a little oil. So putting the cats or a cat back on stops it again. I think. But, also, I thought I read that the floating seals are superior to non-floating ones. I hope somebody can clear this up.

How often does this do this and how long does your car idle before it starts? Do you run it hard before this as well?

I installed my exhaust last Friday and the next day I got smoke, and then again this morning..... 6 days later. I cant put a finger on what I do to cause it.... other than both times were after heavy boosting of 10-15 minute runs. I dont think the turbo is doing anything differently then it did. It does seem to be a design issue on the turbo.
