Only trance I could ever give respect to was Micro back in 2001. Had something to do with being my first party that always stuck in my memory.

I still think Keoki is one of the best DJs of all time. (bow)

Making this a BIG SIZE so all can see it nicely...

I have found the holy grail of free music to download, and it is Station Ripper. Go to their website, download the free program, and go to Shoutcast inside of that. Then, load up "Deviant 1", which is part of the Deviant Audio webcasting. This is the liveset channel, and it ******* rocks. Also ETN.fm livesets, and there are some others too. Deviant comes out nearly perfectly though, and sounds great on my car as much as my home setup. Most other channels improperly boost, cut, or compress the audio spectrum. From the output of these recordings, I drag and drop them to iTunes, and let it do its thing. Most of these livesets are 1 to 2 hours long, and always interesting. Hell, right now as I type I'm listening to Manuel le Saux liveset, 2 hours of emotional, progressive goodness...

To those that know me, they know I pretty much live the rave/trance scene (just short of a kandi-kid) and I listen to trance etc. pretty much all day every day. I have about 26 days straight continuous music stored on my iPod and harddrive, without a repeat (other then when a liveset DJ uses material from another, still it is different.)

Also, look up our own eternalbeats.net, which is the Southwest's own place for the EDM styles.

eww how can you people stand constant kick drums pounding in your head? It takes all the fun out of listening and dancing.

Here's a quick list of my artists as seen on my iPod at the moment:

Above & Beyond
Acidphase IV
Activa
Adam F
Alex M.O.R.P.H.
Woody van Eyden
Aly & Fila
Armin Van Buuren
Bent Killer
BT
Bypass Unit
Chance Jumpers
Chris and Matt Kidd
Christopher Lawrence
CJ Stone
Cor Fijneman
Cosmic Gate
Creative Impulse
Crude Infinity
Dan Ascherl
Dave 202
Deep Voices
DJ's Amo, Astrid, CoDe-X, D, Dado, Deevaro, ELOF, Exodus, Katy, Lazarus, Matt Joseph, Scot Project, Shah, Spare, 3500, Tiesto, Eddie Halliwell, ...damn ran out of time but as you can see I'm in the D's and E's....and we have a few hundred to go.

Also, I love Infected Mushroom. I can trip on that and be completely sober. And THAT'S saying something.

I play it quietly at work, crank it up in the car, and go to the club or rave spot and get drowned in it.

There are so many variations of electronic dance music that you simply can't get tired of it if you have enough on your iPod.

If you can find it, look for STARGATE 009 by the Thrillseekers, a liveset that was so good, so unbelievably clear and detailed, that I tuned my system to it with excellent results.

(rofl)

Trance

House music on ecstasy. It's full of six-minute snare rolls, synth lines designed to make your trip better, and breakdowns which last two days with absolutely no beats. Trance music is the reason Candy ravers exist, since it's as cheesy and juvenile as they are. There are a lot of types of trance, each sounding like its own type of crap (i.e., s*** snowflakes), but Ibiza is the worst example of trance available. Nobody likes trance anymore, especially trance DJs, junglists, and you.
