Oh the noises!

I drive an 07 CX-7 Sport, and have had it for about a year.

About three months after driving it, I started to notice a "popping" or "creaking" noise coming from the center console and/or the driver's seat. It sounds like plastice cracking under stress. The noise happens intermittenly, but primarily occurs when slowing down or taking off from a stop, and sometimes when hitting bumps.

I've had it to the dealer three different times, but they never seem to get it fixed. I'm just wondering if anyone else has heard the same noise in their CX-7.

Another ongoing issue I am having with my 7 is a rubbing, shudder sound when rolling down the front two windows. Mazda has replaced motors and other parts a couple of times, which initially solves the problem, but within a few weeks, the noise returns.

Again, anyone else experiencing the same noise?

I am having the same issue, they actually have found where this weird squeaking noise is coming from. It's something to do with the lumbar support thing in the seat. They are replacing my seat back for me and seeing if that will eliminate that noise.

That's interesting. Once they replace the seat back, you'll have to say it that fixed the problem.

My driver door rattles most of the time

My driver seat belt connection rubs/squeaks constantly

Bubbling/popping sound coming from the engine bay (not all the time, seems to be during certain types of weather or something).. Sounds like a popcorn maker is under my hood.

I'll be happy when my lease is up...

Yeah ours rattles somewhere in the vicinity of the driver door / under dash of driver's side. I've had it to the dealer twice and both times they can't hear it. Seems odd because I hear it all the time non-stop, as does my wife. Coming from an 11 year old Explorer we're used to rattles but not on a < 1 year old car. I'll take back if it gets worse or the next oil change. I'm in no rush.

Don't all new cars nowadays make some type of noises? Cars aren't made like full japanese 90's Accords or Camrys. This CX7 is actually pretty noise and vibration free though, i always think it'll make a creaking sound cause the suspension is sooo stiff, and i live in NYC. But no creaking or vibrations.

I've got a squeak coming from somewhere behind the center console or glove box area. Hear it only when going over bumps... still annoying though. I have to turn the radio up on bumpy roads or I go nuts. I am going to take apart the dash and have a look one of these days. It only started doing it after I took the dash apart last time to do my sub install.

This CX7 is actually pretty noise and vibration free though, i always think it'll make a creaking sound cause the suspension is sooo stiff, and i live in NYC. But no creaking or vibrations.

The only other vehicles I've had that made the odd squeak or weird noise were my S2000's... but they had no sound deadening material and the chassis was so stiff that if you had it up on 4 jack stands, you had to make sure they were level otherwise the car would rock back and forth on 3 of them.

I started getting a squeak, especially over bumps, shortly after I got my CX-7 GT in January. After some experimenting, and with the help of this forum, I was able to figure out that it was coming from the center console latch. To test this I put a tissue (yes, it was clean) over the latch, and haven't heard a squeak since. My more permanent fix was a piece of felt glued down over the spot where the latch hooks in. Since then, no squeaks. Do a search for squeak for more info.

I have this same squeak! Didn't notice it when I first bought the car but about a month of driving brought it out. It is very prominent over bumpy roads and I think it may be the glove box as another poster has said. I will try to fix it myself now that I've heard that it can be done. (wink)
