I was going through ProtegeGarage and noticed he is selling Stage1 and Stage2 cams.
Said to be made by Integral and that even that the Stage2 can run with the stock springs. Sounds intresting
That's great that they are billets but will they give up the HP to make up for the price is the question
I agree with you on everything
Only problem is if Stage2 does not give up at least 15whp then they are NOT woth the price. I mean i'm glad to see someone making good solid cams but if it won't yield 15whp nobody will buy them.
Integral cams are made from steel billets, their not casted. That is one of the reason for such a high price. And I believe you can use your stock springs without any problems.
Stage 2 duration= 264
Stage 2 cam lift= .375" (9.52 mm)
They now also have a stage 2.5 only difference from stage 2 is the duration -Stage 2.5 has a duration of 268. would there be any power difference with only 4 more degrees??

Yup, I was the first with the 2.5 cams. I still have them and they need to be installed. My head needs to be grinded so that the cams can fit, so im waiting till I build the block and Ill do it all at the same time.
What cam is hitting? surprised they didn't reduce the base circle to get the bigger lift cam to fit (thats what was done on the twiggy sticks...exhaust base circle was reduced, allowing monster lift within the original clearences)
Not sure since I didn't do the install. I had the shop contact Integral and they talked about the clearances that were off. I would imagine that Integral took care of the base circle because they fixed a few of the twiggy cams that were off. The shop wouldn't grid the .015 clearance needed without taking the head off.![]()
Does anyone think they will be better than the Wagner cams?
Better meaning better quality all around, I heard those cams added a decent amount of power but $600 and one guys service technician at a shop said he wouldn't even be able to use them since they were so out of whack
Someone needs to bite on these cams that ProtegeGarage has and try them out, obviously you will need cam gears to get the maximum power out.
Anyone making cam springs so we don't have to use shims?
