My ENGINE FELL OUT!!! Im NOT JOKING, This #UCKIN SUCKS!!!!!

Man, after reading all this thread ( a long one at that ) i am scared to drive my car hard.....makes me feel uneasy thats for sure.

Yeap i had my recal completed after the motor fell down and since then have been to the track 3 times. Power shifting and all nothing has happened. i wouldn't worry about it, besides thats what the warranty is for.

This is exactly what happened to me, a bit different situation, but i had the same problems and then boom, goin 20mpg heard a clunk and ran over something.

Looks like same exact mount.
Mazda wouldn't warranty because of the 2" drop on my car. I called bulls***, called a lawyer. Then MazdaUSA came out and denied the claim. I ended up fixing myself. I only had to replce the casing of the tranny, all internals were ok, thank god.

I've found that the rear mount has WAY to much slack in it from the factory to be driving your car like some of us do. It allows movement, then eventually, SNAP. there goes your axle and tranny.

I strongly encourage everyone to either polyeurothane the rear mount or cough up 90$ for the AWR sex mount.

That's bull, no way lowering springs will make the engine fall out. I'd understand if you blew a strut or somethinbg became damaged in the suspension they could blame the work of the person who installed the springs but not the engine falling out. You need to get that layer and take the dealer to court. More thean likely they will settle out of court because they don't need their name being damaged. I worked for a dealer and the manager told this to me. Dealers piss me off when they're doing things like this. What dealer was it so we can stop doing business there.

It was a dealership located in North OKC, Oklahoma. Bob Moore Mazda. They claimed that the vibrations from lowering the car caused the mount to snap. The mount that did actually snap was #3 i think, it's part of the actual casing. They also said I race it because I have 215/45R17's on the front and 205/50R17's on the rear. Only did that because if you've checked, 215's are more common and cheaper. The rear tires are still factory.

Total bs in my books. The service manager didn't want to warranty it and handled it in the first place. They automatically told me they had to tear the transmission down and inspect it before they could warranty anything at all.

That's just bull, next time I'm in Kansas I'll remember to not go there. Did they put that in writing, that you race it so they're not honering the warranty? They pissed me off.

they can't say that a mod voided the warranty without providing proof AND a written statement of why they denied the claim

Bottom Line: IF it is a Mazdaspeed3 and it is under the Recall that Mazda created for the mount, then it IS covered.

SEZ the LAW.

ouch...that sounds like a bummer. #4 mount was the one that was actually being recalled, right? not #3?

yeah, number 4 was the recalled mount, but his #3 could've been defective, esp as I can see how a lowered suspension would cause a mount to fail.

EDIT... I can't type for s***.... That was supposed to say because I *CAN'T* see how lowering the suspension would cause it to break...

I don't see how a lowered suspension is to blame on the mount failing. It has become almost common place for these to fail on the 3 so it seems more like a factory defect to me. What about the rest of the people that live in areas where there are rough roads filled with pot holes and stuff. I know a few freeways here are horrible and I can imagine else where they are as well. Is it ok because the roads are rough and that caused excessive wear on the mount? I think Mazda should only blame themselves for making an infirior product. Sorry guys I'm just pissed over this with mazda, there is no need for all 3 owners to fear of their engine falling out.

I will never buy a car used for that exact reason. Warranties are just token gestures that barely get you anywhere. They raise the price of a new car because of the fact that it's "warrantied", and then back out of any repair they can.

Just save a few grand, buy mildly used, and put that saved money in a high-interest bank. Then if any repairs need to be done, use the money you saved. Hell, seems like you have to pay out of pocket half the time with new anyways.

Sorry to hear this VOICEKOIL, This falled mount happened to someone I know here in canada but hopefully, he had great service from his dealer. But from what I heard, canadian MAZDA dealer are like in US: They don't like aftermarket parts and wants to VOID warranty if they see a BOV! it's ridiculous!

BTW, Good luck dude!!

Paints paint, Factory paint honestly looks like s***, if you wet sanded the whole car and polished the hell out of it then it would look like something, but again its a mass production paint job so thats why I dont expect much.

There aint damn thing good about Mazda paint other than (some) of the colors. Wet sanding factory paint? Ha Ha, It's so thin by the time you get to a smooth finish your down to the primer ;) You only have one layer of prim, one layer of paint and one layer of finish.

Thats my $0.02 cents worth
