MP3's on CD's - How are you burning?

I am getting my CX-7 with Bose on Saturday and want to burn a few CD's.

'Do I just throw all of the MP3's on a CD or do I set up folders?

If you put in folders by Artist, do you then have sub folders for different albums of the same artist?

How do you navigate thru each CD?

I did a search but I could not find specifics.

Regards

ill just assume for conversation that you have the navigation option, the regular bose CD is not an MP3 deck

You can basically set up your MP3 disc anyway you like. Whether you use folders or not, its your choice. If you do use folders, your folders will be searchable. Your folders will be skippable, folder a to folder b etc, and the tracks contained in those folders you can skip through

Take a burned mp3 cd with you - make sure it plays in the vehicle you buy! Don't just assume it will work.

I have a non-nav, Bose 6 disc player that does play mp3's. From reading about this on other forums, it is really a hit or miss kind of thing.

Adding to Mikey's response, I've noticed that the more folders you've created, the longer it takes for the CD player to access the disk and commence playback. I did a little experiment one time, made a disk with folders for certain tracks and made another disk, with NO folders, but with the same tracks. There was a huge difference in the amount of time the CD player started playing the disk. So, if you really want the organization that folders offer, then go for it. You might want to experiment a little, see what format works best for you.

I just keep them organized the same way they are on my computer. Artist folder, then inside that album folders, then the songs inside of that.

It does take a while to initially get the CD playing, but once it's playing there isn't much delay if you are skipping around.

Crap. I am getting NON NAV GT with BOSE and SAT. So now wtf am I supposed to do.

From what I have read:

If you have NAV, no IPOD Integration.
If you have BOSE and NOT using SAT there are ways to hook up.
If you have BOSE and SAT, your only option is FM or FM Modulator?

And there are chances I will get my GT and it will be able to play MP3's?

Talk about confusing.....

Can someone tell me what my options are for:

CX-7, BOSE, SAT. For using IPOD OR MP3's?

Regards....

Swing to the dealer with an MP3 CD and pop it into the exact vehicle you will be taking home. Only way to find out.
