Rolex Vintage Festival presented by BMW/Rolex

31 August - 3 September 2007

As the summer begins to turn to fall, Lime Rock Park celebrates the past with the Rolex Vintage Festival presented by BMW.

This coming Labor Day Weekend, Lime Rock Park will celebrate several important anniversaries. The 50th Anniversary of the track, the 25th Anniversary of Sunday in the Park and the 60th Anniversary of Road and Track magazine, Americas premier Automotive Monthly, which has joined Rolex Watch USA and BMW in supporting the Vintage Festival.

The organizers, Steve Earle, the doyen of Historic Motorsports in the USA, Murray Smith, and Skip Barber, ex F1 Driver and Lime Rock Park owner look forward to another successful event. While Trans-Am cars rocked the spectators at the 2006 running of the Vintage Festival, this years special feature will showcase the golden formative years of IMSA when Porsche and BMW fought for glory at tracks throughout America including Lime Rock Park.

John Bishop, the founder of IMSA, will be on hand throughout the weekend as will a number of the drivers from that era and a special group of RSR and 935 Porsches and M1 BMWs which will certainly provide exciting racing.

Ferrari GTOs, yes the expensive ones, will slug it out with Aston Martins MGs, Arnolt Bristols, Allards, Austin Healeys and Lotus will all provide a nostalgic but speedy class, and some of the great cars of the pre war era including Alfa Romeo, Bugatti and Miller will recreate the sights and sounds that can normally only be seen on historical film or tape.

Sunday in the Park has evolved from an essentially local car show 25 years ago into a comprehensive motoring extravaganza which fills the entire facility with interesting sights and things to do.

All of this plus the fabulous Rolex Moments in Time display, a museum quality gathering of cars and artifacts which have made significant contributions to Motorsports History, make for a wonderful day out in the scenic green valley of Lime Rock Park.

Tickets:
Friday: $15
Saturday: $35
Monday: $35

Sorry, normally I wouldn't say anything but as a LRP employee I feel the need to since your information is incorrect..

First of all, there are no Mazda Clubs scheduled to be at LRP this weekend nor are there any parade laps for Mazda Owners scheduled.

Ticket prices are:
Friday: $20.
Saturday: $45.
Sunday: $20.
Monday: $45.

Happy B-Day though! Hope your having fun at the track!

no big deal, no one showed up anyways, I dont care anymore... I"m done with inviting people anywhere, or making meets and no one want to go.. i'm tired of trying...

dude, you're quitting after only trying once?
I just planned a corporate party @ Mohegan Sun 2 weeks ago. Free food and booze. I planned it a month out, Coordinated all the tiny details, invited 200+ people. FREE FOOD AND BOOZE and only 60 +/-people showed up, and most of them bailed early because Michael Jordan and Ray Allen were in the casino. It's just the way things go. It's vacation time for a lot of people, weddings, and there are weekend bbq's every weekend. I didn't let it get me down, I had some beer and some food, and had a great time. moral of the story is you can't give up after trying once to do a meet. you only bumped the thread once. if you want something huge, then you need to make it happen, you need to invite 2/3's more people than you think will show up, and then follow through.

(shrug) I'd love to go cruising and party all weekend but I got s*** to do. I only have a few weeks left before the weather gets crappy.
I'll send you a PM the next time we're doing a local meet. but be warned, it's usually on Sunday mornings at 7am. No parking lot pimping, we're usually tearing up the road less traveled.

Peace

I don't know of other posts, but this one you started on 8/23 and with it Labor Day weekend, that's usually a family time for most of us older folk here. Sorry bro.

Why are you taking this personally? Did you even see my Kent Meet thread? Everyone bailed on it as we got closer to the date. If it wasn't for me and a few others "spreading the word" at other websites about it, it would have sucked! You need to explore more and come up with some new ideas on how to get a meet going. Maybe you should talk to Slug420? I think he's organized a good many of them..(shrug)

Exactly, it's just tough to get all the CT and MA members together. To do that in a very limited time frame as well does not help.

I was actually at Lime Rock from 10am-3pm with my daughter and I looked around but saw 0 mazdas besides my own.

There were some pretty sweet cars though. I liked the Exiges the most.

Oh yea, some old guy flipped his 3-wheeled Morgan in turn one and a Lotus and some other car came together going down the hill on-to the straight.

This was the first vintage race that I've seen actual crashes at!
