This is just a feeler and nothing else, so if it doesn't happen you don't get to shoot me.

What would be the interest for a shorter runner cast intake manifold for the FS engine. If would be designed for the turbocharged engines with none of the butterfly assemblies. Target price would be $225.

We haven't started this yet but there has been some discussion about building one. It just takes alot of time to do the R&D work and I want to make sure people would actually want to purchase one if we made it.

Thanks
Derrick

I would definitely be in line to snatch one up. I have the 626 mani, but a short runner would be great for us boosted fellas....

Question: Wouldn't a shortened dual runner inhibit low end torque? It wouldn't be a problem if you live in 3k rpm and above, but how street friendly would it be for low boost applications?

Without having a built prototype I cannot answer if it would kill low end torque.

I have looked at the intake manifold on the BP turbo engine in my 323GTX and overall length compared to the non turbo BP intake manifold is several inches different. I actually have really fast spool up time on the 323GTX reaching full boost at about 2600rpm (16PSI).

There may be a bit of low end loss but I dont think it will be much with the FS engine.

The goal would be to have the EGR mounting though it may be a bit relocated, depends on design.

Out of curiosity, why not copy the 626 manifold and mass produce it? You could sell them for $150 each and make a killing. You'd sell a ton!
