I see r1 hasn't popped into this thread lately.. but if I had to guess, I'd say they're probably pretty comparable...

I need to do rotors and pads with my next paycheck... I think I'll probbaly go with the DRT ebay ones, pending a review from the guys that have been using them. I like the idea of powdercoating, because rust is uggggly.

zinc doesn't typically last as long. few months, probably. maybe more...

I guess I don't remember reading that (not saying it's not true :))

I just remember him saying thast they stopped powdercoating for fitment reasons.

the powdercoaters claim it lasts longer, r1concepts.com claims zinc lasts longer...so which is it?

from http://store.r1concepts.com/Items/combo rotors167?

Advantages of Zinc Plating

* Military spec. plating silver for protection against rusting on hub, edge, and vents.
* Last longer then powder coating, clear coating, spray paint, or any other methods.
* Although the entire rotor is zinc plated, the zinc will only remain on the areas that do not come into contact with the brake pads.
* Better appearance

Hmmm... Interesting. Well, I guess if you want red, bllue or black... go DRT. Otherwise, seems like the r1's will do just about the same job as the silver powdercoated ones.

All based on assumption, of course...

Yeah, dude. Sweet. Now I don't know if I should get rotors & pads or eibach lowering springs first.

Conundrum.

I will be posting my review of them as soon as i get mine put on. (DRT) but a quick question

Can anyone tell me which break pads i should go with, how much they are and where to get them?

Thank you!

you know, its really up to you. i wanted to buy the top of the line greenstuff or hawk pads like everybody reccomends, but i didnt have the cash when i did my rotors so i just went to napa and bought the cheapest ones they had, actually best ones for the front and cheapest for the rear. spend like $60 for complete set and im super happy with them.
