Manifolds

Hi Guys,

I am Leen Steed, owner of Steed Speed Performance. I have been working on a design to replace the Mazdaspeed Callaway cast manifold as I'm told there is some interest in a more substantial unit. I have a lot of projects on the go and am currently building manifolds for the Horsepower Freaks 750hp M3 kit so time is tight right now.

Before I put too much time into this Mazda project I really need to know if there is any real demand for it! My manifolds are cut from steel billet on CNC machines and are quite the work of art.

Good to hear...but why not do a replacement manifold to upgrade our small turbo to a T3 based unit...there are people here with the need to upgrade the turbo instead of the manifold...JMO.

I can't speak for everyone but I'd definitly pay for a manifold that would bolt up to all the stock hardware and showed hp gains as well. The manifolds on your website look nice man. Do you have any other info on the style of manifold you'd be making for the MSP (log, tubular, equal length, etc...)?

As for demand consider this, there is only one other company (that I know of) currently selling manifolds for the MSP. The list for the first batch GB was filled up in no time and there are still alot of people needing a replacement. They pretty much have the market all to themselves at this point. If an MSP owner has a broken EM then the only choices are buying a ridiculously expensive new mani from Mazda or waiting for another batch of manifolds to be made. Our stock manifolds don't seem to stand the test of time very well so eventually that's a decision everyone might have to make.

I'd be really interested in a EM that would be a straight replacement to the OE.
Mine has just cracked after 50 000km and I believe it is because the Em is under tension from holding the turbo and exhaust. Btw my exhaust bracket just before the cats has broken, so it doesn't help.

If someone can come up with a EM that has somekind of a bracket that ties to the engine block to help disperse the load and allow the EM to withstand stress for a long time, he's got my order.

I'm in Montreal and do autoslalom on regular basis. All the guys that run MSPs in the club need a tuff EM too.

+1 on the bracket idea...Tripoint was in the process of making something like that but I dont know if they ever completed the project...

I'm interested in this too, just would like to get an idea on price and some numbers once it has been installed.

steed speed or GT spec, i'll be in for whichever comes better

and pls, post some kinda of samples related to MSP as it'll show for sure if ppl will buy it or not bc the demand is out there as long as you bring the right product.

P.S fyi , MAM's tubular em is by far the most favorable em ever made to this point for MSP. Thats like a jack pot for every MSP owner to have one.
for pic of this tubular em type you could check Piranas car

Ditto. Your price point is right on if you can build a quality product that has quality results. I already shelled out 750 bucks for a MAM Manifold (that obviously never showed up) but all I need to see is a quality product that delivers and you've got at least one buyer. (yes)

Dude , i heard what happened w/ MAM. Don't wanna bring that story back but from those who used the TUBULAR EM , Pirana came first in my mind, compare it to an work of art. The product speaks for it self as for the Beau thats diff. story which is not my intend to bring in here.

Personaly i'd compare any new upcoming EM to the MAM's tubular EM.
IF it is comparable or better than i'd say i got a good deal other wise i'll keep looking for a used tubular or new EM from someone else.

i agree, the mam bullhorn is my fav and waited a long time to get my hands on one. The high quality, performance, and of course the look is unsurpassed. It amazes me that there is still a push for aftermarket parts for the msp, but hey I'm all for it. ;)

I don't know about the bullhorn one but i like the one pirana is rocking.

Isn't Pirana just rocking a regular MSP Direct Replacement MAM Manifold? Last time I saw his car I think thats all it was?
