Odd noise, brakes?

Driving my car the past few days I have noticed a VERY slight sound coming from my car. I think it may be my brakes. I can hear a undulating, slightly abrasive sound, a lot like when minimal pressure is applied to the brakes, that speeds up and slows down depending on my speed. Could it be rotors/pads? It's only audible at lower speeds, but it's there.

Like I said, the sound is very faint and can only be heard when driving in an enclosed area where the sound reverberates and there is almost no other noise. Also, when coming to a slow stop, I can feel some very slight abrasive feedback in the brake pedal. I noticed the sound the same day that I had to slam on my brakes pretty hard at a stop light.

Thoughts?

How new is your car? I think everyone has heard a sound coming from the brakes/rotors for the first 500 miles or so... but it goes away eventually.

go bed them in again doin mutiple stops from different speeds and allowing time to cool then go in reverse and stop with the e brake then normal brakes a couple times this will clean the glaze on the pads from a hard stop goin in reverse will clean and adjust the e brake just a thought read up on bed-ing brakes in

My 07 MS3 has a wierd sound on occasion too. It's like a faint sound of the vibration big truck drum brakes make. It doesn't happen when my foot is on the brakes and is at low speed (could happen at higher speeds too but just isn't audible).

Driving today in stop and go traffic at a steady 2nd gear 2-3k RPM I heard it. While holding steady throttle I used my left foot to tap the brakes and it went away.....now I know the noise is brake related. It's like a combined vibration/noise type sensation.

I'm wondering is it is the brake booster....still use vacuum these days? Can the diaphram make noise? Ideas? Not really concerned about it...just curious.

Same, was in stop and go traffic on I-5 freeway, and I could now hear it from 1st through 3rd gears. I could feel it in 4th, too. But couldn't quite hear it anymore. (help)(nailbyt)

Also, link to "bed-ing brakes" pls? thx

I doubt bedding the brakes will impact the noise I'm referring to. Sounds more like it's the vacuum boost from the power brakes to me.

Bedding would impact the brakes when in use, not when not in use like the noise I'm getting.
