Swap MS3 spoiler for stock?

I wouldn't mind taking the stock spoiler off and going sans-spoiler. Anyone got the balls to take the stock spoiler off the 3 hatch or ms3 and post some pictures? :)

Definitely going to be either rebadging or debadging :) Just not quite sure which one yet. Although I'm not going so far as to put the 2.3 on the side of the car - I don't care how sleeper I think I want to be ;)

San Diego wuwu!

Well I think starting with a quieter muffler will make it sound more like a sleeper than changing the wing. most people will not pick up on the differences in a wing but everyone assumes that you just stuck a loud muffler on a stock mz3. The next thing would be removing the mazdaspeed3 badge and possibly replacing with the standard Mazda3 badge.

there are plenty of hatchback 3 without spoiler... look around. Its not pretty IMO. Anyway most of the time everyone think its a 3 because they never heard of the mazdaspeed 3.

And for muffler, i cant see how you can have it quieter... dam i was going full throttle at 60 in a 35 zone (stupid thing i know.. i released gaz when i realized i was going that fast) without even brigning anyone attention. I think the motor sound is louder in the car than outside...

there is a big difference on the reg. 3 there is 2 quarter sized holes atop of the hatch and on he speed well none alot of customizing wanna trade?

Au contraire, my friend was riding behind me, and with his windows up and stereo on (not loud), he could hear my exhaust. I wouldnt change the exhaust for anything louder, and am glad that changing it doesnt make a big difference in power... i think its perfect..

Actually the 3 HB and Speed 3 are pretty much the same (as for the body and interior). The front fenders-hood-and bumper cover are some differences, but most things should bolt right on, including exhaust (deleting one cat I think). The wing has been done at ************. He had to plug two holes.

Hey when did you buy your ms3? I'm thinking about buying mine from Norco Mazda as well. $24, 219 OTD is pretty nice. They gave me a quote of $24,150 but that doesn't include any of the fees.

Just bought it on Thursday. Keep in mind, mine was a Sport, so if you're looking at a GT that'd jack up the cost a bit (though I got offered $500 over invoice on a GT about two weeks ago, so there are deals to be had if you shop around and aren't as picky as I am). Dealt with Andrew from their internet sales division. Nice enough guy, but seemed to get a little b****y when I kept pressing them for the Edmunds TMV price. As if me pushing for a fair price was way off base or something. Mmm... sales! :P

Anyway, unsure whether it was their dog & pony show (took about 4 hours for me to get the original price I asked for) or what, but they'd have made a better impression with me if they'd skipped the sales BS and just dealt with me straight up. The base price they charged me was $22,250.

You might ask specifically for a girl in sales (think her name was Jessica?) - she was brand new and said she just started and hadn't made a sale, so that might work to your advantage, not to mention she was pretty damn cute (which I suppose could work to your DISadvantage, depending on things haha) ;)

Way to take a thread OT guys.

Is it possible to derail my own thread? Hrm ;)

In any case, to, uhh... re-rail my thread, currently looking into getting an OEM mazda 3 HB spoiler. Trying to get some specifics on cost, paint, etc, but I'll be sure to update w/pics if I end up going forward on it.

i know someone that had a 5 door hatch mz3 and they bought a ms3 bumper to have the bigger spoiler and it fit. if you get a 2007 model hatch it had the same brake lights all around. otherwise the older models have the brake light inside and are different
