My car was also slated for build at the beginning of July. Damn. That means it probably won't be here until October. I'm told it takes 2 months for transport once built.

That also means I'll have about 2 months of decent, dry weather before the snow comes. Double-crapola.

I was told it takes 2-3 days to build then 30 days to arrive. There's 3-4 boats per month so it could end up being more or less by a day or a few. I'm supposed to get mine 2nd week of September.

Have you heard from your dealership yet?

Thats precisely the reason I bailed on my MS3 order last year. That and when they released the Canadian price, I felt it was too high. (Almost $32,000 sticker).

Yup - it's fun to make a mini-trip out of picking up a car. I was going to do that, but there are plenty in Houston too. (Though I never see them on the street)

I been waiting so long for a review of the new WRX, that be stupid for me to buy 2 weeks before the 08 speed3 comes out or the 08 wrx is reviewed. Needless to say I test drove an MS3 the other day and it is a hell of a car. It really felt allot like the old Mitsu Eclipse Turbos(The Engine), though quieter, smoother and faster. Its kinda a crazy car, you guys that have them and friends that don't know cars must scare your friends daily. Looks like a family car(Though Sporty), goes like hell, handles great. I liked the car allot.

Does anyone know for sure that the 08 Speed3's will be arriving August 1st, the dealer i went to said mid-September, but she was trying to sell me a an 07.

I wouldnt read too much into august 1st. I would say alot of dealers will have some sometime in August.

"following up" every other day. I guess they are trying to get rid of the '07s.
One option i would like them to offer is the awd of the MS6. That way the new 08 STI would have a direct competitor

sierra248, I'm in the exact same position you are.

I'm looking for a new car, and have narrowed it down to three cars:
'07/'08 Mazdaspeed3
'07 Subaru WRX wagon
'08 Subaru WRX hatch

With the Impreza redesign, '07 and '08 WRX are different cars. I really should wait for a full review before buying anything.

I don't expect major changes on the MS3 for '08, so I'd rather get a good deal on the '07 MS3.

I went to a Honda dealer a few months ago (while helping my sister shop for a car). At the time, the Fit was in high demand. The salesman pulled out a booklet of printouts showing exactly what they had on the way to their dealer and when it was scheduled to arrive. Model, transmission, options, color, etc. It went at least two months out.

I'd bet the Subaru dealers have something similar. They must know what cars they are getting in 90 days, but they may not want to tell you, yet.
