10+ PSI Boost on a MSP???

Sorry if there is a thread already on this, but if there is, I couldn't find it. But I was wondering what things I would need to do/install to make it safe for my engine to run over 10PSI of boost without damaging the engine, or affecting the life of the engine and/or Turbo??Some basic things I know I will need to do is get bigger Injectors, Intake and Exhaust cams, Forged Rods with high compression pistons, boost controller(obviously:D). Now, I am not a wonder of mechanical acheivement, so please don't flame me for being a little engine Illiterate. I have a basic grasp of the components of the engine, so if you have an idea of something else I will have to add to make the 10PSI + boost safe to run daily driver without damaging the engine it would be greatly appreciated. I plan on 13-15PSI steady for daily driving. Before even suggesting parts, is this safe???? And any parts I will need, could you explain how they work, just incase I don't get it;). Don't suggest a BOV, because the one that comes on the MSP is off the RX-7, and is fully capable of handling 20PSI of boost. So, any ideas of things I will need, will be appreciated, thank you for your time(wiggle) (yippy).

Also, what will any items cost, approximatly/ballpark, and where might they be found. Again, thank you so much for your ears, and thoughts/opinions.Also, has anybody else done this, tried this, looked into it? If so, please post what happened.

If you want to run high boost you dont want High Comp. Pistons... You want Forged Low Comp. Pistons. :-)

if you get the CAI, your bypass valve will sound like a turkey, no shitting you. its a really loud turkey. im looking to test out a bypass valve from a jetta 1.8t instead of mine, and if i dont like that, im gonna look at a turboxs one

Thanx, for the help, especially on the Low comp pistons, I get the felling if I had High comp, my engine would get ******. Does the BOV really sound that bad???? PLease fill me in on the results of replacing your BOV. Thank you

I kinda like the turkey. Seriously. A traditional BOV whoosh would be nicer but the gobble isn't bad. I like it.

To run under 10 psi you really shouldn't have to change to much. You may want to look at plugs, injectors, and accurrate gauges.

If you want a 15psi daily driven msp the only mod you will need is a new engine. :p

When your ready to do something let me know. I can guide you in the direction to 20psi happiness:D
Mine will run 22-24psi with engine management
You can email or PM me for any questions you may have on the project

You probably wouldnt need bigger injectors as much as a better IC. heat soak coupled with higher boost would lend itself more to pingning.

haha, i didnt even know my mazdaspeed came with a BOV

the gobble gets attention the gobble makes ppl go off the road saying WTF... the gobble ownzors u!

now! you can not push 13 - 15 psi on a daily basis and here is why. with your stock parts, you can push on a EXTREMELY hot day around 14-15 psi without ******* over ur engine, and even then running it constantly on a daily basis all your doing is wasting gas without fuel managment on a cold day your gonna run into detonation problems at around 11 psi. ur gonna wanna get lower compression pistons i new FMIC and cai, would probably all help.
If you dont get the lower compression pistons id be weary about running 15psi, another problem is that our car has a fuel cut, its not at 10 psi well somedays its at 10 psi otherdays its at 14 it all depends on the air desity. So u'll need joe p's defenser to get rid of the fuel cut.
but i dunno if i'd suggest it the way it seems to me, mazda put the right formula for that fuel cut, when ya start fuckign with taht and removing it.. u dont know the cars limits and next thing you know u'll see kaboom ;op. maybe after adding the fmic and the lower compression pistons maybe then fuel cut will go even higher, due to the fact the car can now handle more i dunno. but im not gonna remove the fuel cut until i get that other stuff and find out that the cut is in the same place.

btw joe p was running 18 psi on 116 octane and all he had was ngk spark plugs and K&N i believe maybe exhaust not sure. But, i dont suggest doing this, he's a expert at tuning so i wouldn't attempt it.
