Went to the local 1/4 mile track Wednesday. Had a somewhat disappointing outcome.
1st run, launched real easy:
60' - 2.57
1/8 - 10.08
MPH - 73.42
1/4 - 15.40
MPH - 90.83
2nd run, launched harder, had wheel hop yet pulled a better 60':
60' - 2.37
1/8 - 9.93
MPH - 72.16
1/4 - 15.32
MPH - 90.75
It was my first time launching the car (haven't even tried on the street). But I'm not concerned with the ET, what I'm most disappointed with is the MPH. I was running ~10psi with the Joe P MBC, and a cone filter. Boost does not drop much by redline. I think it's the hesitation that is killing it. It was about 85 degrees out.
What's up with that? 90mph? (scratch) It's supposed to trap higher than that stock. And the difference from stock to 10psi was like night and day in my car. Maybe it was the track... a 97 Viper GTS in the lane next to me ran a 14.1 @ 102.2mph.
Those are supposed to do low 12s @ 119mph.
Ah well. I will be going back to the track after my 3" turbo-back exhaust is finished, along with a new short intake & Joe's FPR mod.
