weird sound please help

ok so on saturday morning i went to mazda to get an oil change...it was very wet and rainy outside. i didn't really push the car in the rain on the way to mazda. i gave them the oil i used and waited a while...when everything was said and done they said it oil recommendations for our car was 5.5 qts of oil and i only gave them 5.25 qts of oil and they said no big deal just add some more when you get home. so as i left mazda i decided to push the car a little...gave is boost up to 12 and then 18....now here is my problem

any time on my way home that i hit 15 - 18 lbs of boost my car would make a whining sound or a high pitched cry coming from dash which makes me think this could be a turbo problem since its very close to the fire wall...now i am hitting boost fine so idk what the problem is...could that quarter of a quart of missing oil really effect this car? when i checked the dip stick the oil line was right up to full. so i have no idea what the problem is.

now i did make one stop on the way home. went to the local grocery store...and then drove home...tried to see if the sound would come back...and for the first 2-3 times i pushed it nothing...then on the 4th time i hit high boost and on i heard the sound again but this time it wasn't as loud...since saturday i haven't driven it since i am kind of afraid...and i have 13,000 miles on the car since this is my weekend/fun car

so if anyone has anything to say on this issue please throw me your opinions or ideas...thanks everyone!

sounds like you have a boost leak. tighten all your clamps again. also check to make sure the oil cap is secured all the way, but i'm thinking its the boost tubes off the turbo if the sound is close to the fire wall.

i think i found the problem....my rear boost hose. i will be adjusting it today when i get home

yea...after fixing that i went and retightened everything else and i was surprised to see a lot of things weren't as tight as when i left them...including the inlet pipe right at the turbo which was the loosest ....but now after driving it the car doesn't make the noise anymore...thank god!
