Water temp? Whats yours?

Hello friends, she's still running like poop when up to temp.
In normal traffic conditions, with the AC off, and 90* outside my coolant temp is 230.
I have a cheapo P5 radiator. Is this my problem? Is my ecu pulling timing because of my high(er) temps?

Mine never got that hot, and I was running a p5 radiator

I dont have a p5 rad. but I dont go above 212 my fans do a good job cooling things down.

this is a possibility. with a built motor, big turbo, etc. you will be creating more heat for the coolant and radiator to shed. i would consider an aluminum replacement with some aftermarket fans. make sure your radiator cap and thermostat are new, too.

Do you guys think the extra heat is angering my ECU? To the point where it's pulling timing?

P5 radiator is most likely not your problem. The only time I had issues was during street tuning or too much boost in traffic then sitting through several lights. Make sure your secondary fan is kicking in. I blew a fan relay last year... that had me checking every other thing it could be!!

I have an aluminum radiator now and until I built my radiator shroud to make better use of the air my spal fans were generating... high boost and stop and go didn't go together.

Also if your at 230... lots of timing is definately being pulled!!
