Turbo MP3 Destroyed A Pre-99 Mustang GT

Well, it finally happened... I destroyed one! LOL! I was on Eastbound 183 about to get on Northbound Loop 12. I have my dome light on trying to change a CD, and as I am approaching the exit, I see this black Mustang....Please be a GT...Oh yeah, it's on!:D I pass by and give the guy a what's up nod, and scoot in front of him on the exit. As I hit the turn-around loop to get on Loop 12, he follows. I merge slowly with oncoming traffic to see what he would do. As I suspected, he tried to go around me, so I gun it, and get up the road, past the trailing traffic. I get to cruise speed, and I notice the GT changing lanes through traffic. The GT ended up planted firmly behind me on my ass. There was a minivan in front of me, so I continued to cruise. The minivan changed lanes, and there was no traffic ahead for at 3/4 of a mile. I give it a little gas to give me some distance, but the GT was having none of that. So gun it, and get over to the middle lane to let the GT get besides me. The Gt rumbled to life, and pulled up besides me. I drop it in 4th, and step on it. FSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSPHEWW. Boost was instant since I was up in the RPM's. I left the guy soooooo bad. An I know he stepped on it too because I heard it, and saw it jump forward a little. I got up to about 95 MPH, and shut it down. He exits NW Highway. I was like DAMN! That was only 6 PSI. I can't imagine what 8 will be like! (wow)

It'll be like a blown motor...HAHA, J/K...:p

I have faith that the FM kit will hold together just fine, and your motor will hold tighter than a drum.
 
Tight! I always get my ass kicked by mustangs so I've learned just to act like I'm cruisin not racing. Hey how much horse power do you have with the overbore and turbo kit? Did you get forged pistons after you had it bored or what? And Common you turbo guys since you now have enough horse power get that SCCA World Challenge car's tranny. I saw it on the mazda motor sports catalogue. I think it was just the gears though.
 
What you saw on the Mazdaspeed Motorsports website were gears 3, 4 and 5 plus the final drive. You don't want them in a street car because it will make for a really short gear ratio and at a 6500 rpm redline you would only top out at about 100 mph...Who wants that??

With stock gears and turbo you could easily hit the 140 mark that the stock gearing will make.
 
Great to hear Linux. How much HP are you pushin since you have an FS ZE engine, overbored and a turbo? I guess the FS ZE engine i supposed to have 170 HP by itself
 
Dont be fooled by the fs-ze, it is crap. The hp ratings in Japan are different from that in the U.S. By the U.S. standards, the fs-ze is rated at like 150 to 160hp, I cant remember. The only thing on the fs-ze that will boost the power is the high comp. pistons coupled with the intake manifold. I do want to see what kind of power the bored out pistons give. I know it wont be much, but it should make a difference. Maybe 10 to 15 extra hp.

Yeah, what he said. You forgot the intake and exhaust cams are different also. I have lowered my compression to the US-Spec 9.1:1 and am using my original US-Spec Intake manifold. I sold my FS-ZE intake manifold to TheMan.
