Hi, Im trying to find a way to put a 00-03 gauge cluster in a 99 protg
but I need some help figuring it out.
I posted this in electronics, but I figure it might be faster if I reach out to more 3rd gen owners.
I would appreciate if anyone who owns a 2000-2003 protg would check their gauge cluster wire harness and write down which pins are connected and what color wires are connected to them.
I did it for the 99 Mazda Protg LX, so now I have to figure out what the difference is for 00-03. Everything seams to work between these two different clusters except for temperature gauge and tachometer. Since gauge faces are pretty much interchangeable, the only difference must be the pinout on the wire harness.
Heres one for the 1999 LX
First color indicates the color of the wire
Second color indicates the color of the stripe on the wire

Kool, forgot i was registered to this site lol.. i've been hangin out in clubprotege.com but doesnt seem like there are many 99-00 owners there. well this is a pic of my car,
its a 2000 lx I think, lol anyone know wats the diff. between a dx and a lx? sumbody said the lx dont come with power windows or locks, and mine does, but i also read that the dx does not come with cruise, and mine did lol. anyways.. only things i've done to it are lowered the front bumper almost 3",
swaped all my 2000 gray interior for the 02' interior. added sunroof. Performance wise, i've only modified the stock air intake system.. planning on getting coilovers since i have to replace my struts soon.
Well I have a 00 LX and i have power door lock, windows, and cruise well did have cruise until I just took it out. The DX i believe doesnt have the arm rest on the center console from other pics i have seen. same engine, same suspension, same body same interior besides maybe some minor things, but overall no differences just luxuries and i believe some DX models came with the power windows and door locks too
fawk.. lol oh well.. thx for the help.. but i still dont know. haha. well mine had everything. also the arm rest. power loocks/doors, had cruise until stoped working.. havent figured out wats wrong with it yet. was weird the horn stoped working the same time cruise did.. =\ hmm.. anyways. thats off topic. Nice. so mine is a LX. lol you dunno how much i've been having problems with this, wen my bro inlaw got the car it didnt have any emblems, so wen i wanted to get rotors, i wus like wtf .. i dunno wat i told him Lx/or Dx... or even Es? so i drove back home like 30 min distance.. got the wheel off.. to find out they were bigger.... Thanks alot..
Thanks! for comment on the front bumper. wen i ordered the fog lights i thought they were goin to b like at least 5"... oh well. gotta buy sum mesh or somethign to cover them holes.
