So turned my car off and popped the hood after driving for bout 15 minutes, I noticed some smoke coming from turbo/heat shield area while the turbo timer was running. I've tried to search on here but havne't had much luck finding anything. I'm going to drive it today and check it afterwards, but I just thought I would ask on here in the mean time see if anyone has experienced this.

I just installed a FMIC and BOV last week, hoping this is not really related to that, because other than the smoke the car feels like it is running fine. But again i'll take another look today. thanks

So I seafoamed today, through brake booster and then in PCV, after doing PCV I noticed smoking coming from my manifold. Not sure exactly if its some sort of leak from a bad exhaust manifold gasket?

mazdaspeed protege? that's a cracked exhaust manifold.
very common in these cars.

get a stiffer front motor mount and replace the manifld either with OEM or aftermarket.

yeah its a msp. I have an Awr front mount. Yeah i noticed the smoke one time when I originally put this post up, but then agai ntoday it was more noticable since I had just seafoamed. So your saying cracked exhaust manifold. The only aftermarket one I know of is steedspeed, that thing is expensive lol

search the fs threads and hit up some guys with a pm you might get lucky. that's how I got my oem replacement for about 100$.

steedspeeds is not the only aftermarket manifold, just so you know.
thurnder makes one(or used to..) and there are a few for sale on the FS section...
search is your friend.

Yeah I been trying to search for one, Thurnder is the brand?

Thunder is known to crack, every single version of them ever made. I would weld the stock one, find an uncracked stock mani, or get a steedspeed. You can get lucky and find a used mani like a MAM.

u can't weld cast iron, it'll crack again.
welding will only hold it together on the outside, it will still be cracked inside.

I have been looking into a thunder manifold.and found one that was rewelded. But everyone is saying there not good and they crack a lot. Is it possible to weld.cast.iron? Someone said no but another said yes?

You can weld cast iron, plenty of people have welded the stock manifold. I would feel safer with an uncracked stock mani than any Thunder

Is that right? I have a guy who i was thinking of buying a rewelded thunder from that was bead blasted but everyone keeps saying that they crack. So you think I should just have stocky re-welded?
