Side mirror broken

I was in the living room enjoying the Dallas game (well, maybe not enjoying) and the doorbell rang. I figured it was more family, but it was the nieghbor kid and his dad. His dad volunteered him to tell me something and he said "We were playing football in the street, and we accidentally hit your mirror" We went and looked at it and it's shattered, and the mirror assembly was seperated - but that snapped back together.

The kid's dad said he'd reimburse me once I get it replaced, even though he seemed pretty dissapointed. Nice to see people teaching their kids responsibility

Edit: that Dallas game rocked

This is a GOOD thing to hear..... and let me make a suggestion to you.....ENSURE that after you get it fixed....and the dad reimburses you....while the kid is present....THANK him, both the father AND THE KID for coming forward, and tell him how much you appreciate the fact that he did, that too will be a lesson to the kid....it will show him that although he may have gotten in trouble from his dad....that being upfront and honest and taking responsibility for ones actions is commendable.

My wife had my P5 one night and hit a trash can by mistake. The mirror didn't move like it was suppose to. No scratches on the paint either. I took it to my local Mazda dealership and had them look at it. No scratches on it, the turning mechinism just broke. It was replaced under factory warrenty due to the fact the no scratches in the paint proved it was'nt a hard hit and broke instead of moving. I got a $150 mirror for free. Can't beat that.

well.. after the deer incident... (we wont go into details here.. not the time nor the place.. but feel free to search through the threads for it) I just decided to get the M3 style mirrors w/ the clear marker lenses :) although they aren't power mirrors like the stock ones.. they are much sleeker and more stylish, have a nice blue tint to the glass... and i have plans for that power mirror switch anyway... it'll end up being much more usefull the way I have in mind ;) :nudge, nudge.wink, wink:
