Running WITHOUT Engine Cover

Do tou guys think it would be ok to drive without the engine cover on? I only ask because I am painting mine right now and want to let it dry over night.

Thanks guys. I'm painting the plastic cover yellow to match the car. I'm using Duplicolor Daytona Yellow. Do you guys think that this paint would be ok to paint my calipers too? It is heat resistant up tp 500 degrees.

Greg...car sounds even better now that I have a downpipe on the car

The HSM axle-back is doing well too. Gonna keep it on until I get my downpipe-back exhuast fabricated.

the paint you are using is fine for calipers. be sure to make a few passes / coats to ensure full coverage

i found some anidized paint that a friend of mine painted his calipers with he used red but i found yellow to match the car my only concern is "anodized yellow" does that mean gold(bling)

I painted mine with metal cast it is just a metallic flake silver primer with a candy color clear coat. Mine are red I have seen the yellow (yellow does not look gold) and the blue. It looks awesome but only for a year it will eventually chip off, or at least mine are chipping. If you do take a chance on it I would maybe do it in three stage. I would do a high 1500 degree primer then do the metal cast silver then the candy coat. Just my .02

would not recommend using it on your calipers. get at least a
900 degree paint for the brakes. i used plasti-kote engine paint
(500 deg paint) on the calipers of my old dodge avenger and they
kept chipping and cracking making me repaint them every few
months.

i used the dupi-color brake caliper paint (900 deg) on the speed
and after 6 mos the are still perfect and easy to keep clean. i
also think they make yellow in 900 deg paint (check Pep Boys).
