Rattle/Grinding for shifter area?

I first noticed this last night, its a very light noise (the only reason i noticed was because the radio was off) when i put my hand on the shifter it goes away but when i take my hand off it comes back?

Any Suggestions?

probably a loose shift knob, if not, maybe something on the other side of the shift, like the heatshield of your cat under the car. I suggest finding the installation instructions of the B&M short shifter, with it's pics and everything - it will tell you how to take the center console off with just a couple screws, and you can inspect your shifter a lot easier, figure out what's loose.

there will be a little more road noise from the shifter/bushings. thats just the nature of the beast. but you might want to check the heatshield underneath the car. chances are that its hiting the shield.

Damn Tom you beat me to it. For some reason the KArt boys are noisy. Hey tom why is that your shifter is loud, I have had the cheapy $15 type from Ebay as well as a $130 B&M and never heard the noise before?

the shifter bushings are what gives the shifter that great snick snick feel. but that also will transfer more noise.

did you grease the center ball on installation? if there isnt any grease it might have a little bit of play in there. might be worth a check. we use some nice thick grease to lube that sucka
