Yo...peep game! I have the Escort Passport 8500. It does its job very well! I have foiled many a speed trap. My success has mostly to do with the Lord lookin out for me!
It is around $300 USD, and WELL worth it!! It has an amazing range. The only drawback with any detector is it's inability to protect you from instant-on technology, and Lidar (laser radar). The laser thing is solved by Lidatek laser jammers. These are leagal because they are not regulated by the FCC. Check it out.

I'm not sure but i think i asked you this before cause there was a thread about radar dectors a long time ago, but anyways where did you get your Passport 8500 from cause got mine from Cartoys.com and it retails for about $299 right now. But before i got it. I got it for $229 from cartoys long time ago but i guess there selling it for 299 now. oh well Just wanted to see where you got your's from and how much it cost. But the passport work's like a charm it beat the valentine one last year in the magazine 97% to 77% but i guess this year it's visa versa where the Valentine one scores 97% and the 8500 77%. The only reason why people like the valentine one is just because it has arrows where it's showing you which direction the Po Po is coming from. Don't let that fool you people because you might not be happy with Valentine one. BUt the escort is tight and it works like a charm i remember on I-5 i was the only car at night coming towards the opposite direction and bam my radar goes off staying on making that beeping lazer jam sound bbbzzzzzzzzz... couple seconds later i look ahead of me don't see nothing look in the rear view mirror don't see nothing glance on the oncoming direction nothing, but it still is going off i swear i was looking down the road and still didn't see nothing one mile has ticked since the radar has gone off but still nothing couple seconds later off to the left in the center of the freeway there he was sitting there with his radar pointing at car's i passed but was doing about 75mph 5mph over the speed limit until i seen him it gave me time to do the speed limit but still i had enough room to do more than 90mph and slow down to the speed limit but, back to the subject the radar kicks kahoonies and rocks the booties. I totaly recommend this radar over any other radar even over the rock moutain radar and the valentine one.

YEP, I got one...especailly since they dropped a lot of areas back to 55 around here....just like American express..."don't leave home without it"....of course....they are only truely effective if there are others on the road with you...so that the PO PO are shooting at others before they THINK about shooting at you....thus you DETECT them before they detect YOU....don't ya just hate that instand on radar crap! lol :{D but mine has saved me butt MANY a time....

Well this is funny because I just took a 40 hour course a couple months back to get radar certified for work. I do NOT write speeding tickets though. I NEVER write speeding tickets. I've been on the force for 3 years and just hate writing people for s*** that I do. I will stroke yo ass in a second for runing a red light though....I hate that s***.
If you wanna buy a good detector buy the valentine or late model escort. Nowadays radars have instant on wich shuts on and off preventing a steady beam of radar waves to be intercepted by a detector. So a cop could be running radar in his car without you knowing it until its to late.
