Mazda Protege LX (2002)
since I have my "new" Protege I want that it runs well and quiet. So maybe u guys know what could it be. When I drive trough e.g. a pothole it makes some strange noises in the rear. Like that something is banging on each other. The stabilizers looks on the first view good. What else can it be if not not them? Suspension?

Have you checked the struts? They tend to get a bit noisy when they go bad and that may be what you're hearing. Depends what you mean by "banging".

well, i pushed down each fender and the care bounces just ones. But as I was doing it more than one time on the rear the strange noise came one time what i also get when I drive trough a pothole. The noise is hard to describe :/

sorry for the stupid question, but the struts are this, where you put the shock absorbers in? English is not my first language.

The struts are what the springs seat on, similar to shock absorbers but not the same thing. If you can hear it when you're pushing it down I doubt it's struts, struts will just make a loud "thud" sort of sound when you hit something and just tend to make the car noisier overall when driving. Maybe try to get a look under the car while someone pushes down on it to see if you can recreate the noise and see if you can spot anything that may be broken.

Check your strut mounts. My bolts were a little loose on mine and caused a nice rattling noise when I went over bumps.

thanks for all answers. I think I will start with the strut mounts. They are not so expensive. Result soon :)

did somebody bought parts from this company? roca-usa.com ...if yes, is the quality ok? compared to e.g. KYB

I hope I'm not annoying but to be sure that I don't buy pieces which I don't need to buy, I recorded the sound with my phone. I putted it directly in the trunk.

Its a 25.1MB mp4 file. I hope somebody will recognize the noise and can spot it based on this so that I can buy the right stuff.
