Protge321's Turbo Build

what are the recommend valve jobs to get when going forged. not looking for top performance, just what needs to be done to ensure proper functionally and long life.

id go with a 5 angle valve job, thats waht im doing then im going to get a lil P&P done as well. don forget to to do the block, im goin with a .040 overbore so it should be interestin.. the usual clean, bore, hone.. the whole 9 yards... when going forged, DO NOT SKIP the little stuff.. do all the preventative matinence while the engine is out as well... you dont want to take any shortcuts while goin forged!!

still having problems even after the new wastegate..

can the vacuum connection on the wastegate be up or down? thats the only thing i can think of that could be different..

i have it up..

I dont feel anything in the line.. circulation seems fine.

Does the direction of the wastegate matter? Maybe its stuck open, I'm running out of ideas

edit: even when i disconnected the vacuum source from the wastegate, it still wouldnt boost. could it be stuck open and no exhaust is spinning the compressor?

The positioning doesn't matter though its suppose to go up cause if its down the vac line is right on the trans.

It could be suck, but idk why it would be

subbin..

nice build mate..

ur goin to have to take the dump pipe off and see.... or do some tests with the wg..

lol sorry what i mean is u might have to take off the s pipe and see if the flap is stuck closed or open... if it isn't then ur not gettin the right amount of pressure then

took the s-pipe off and the wga was seized partially, i dropped a little bit of oil in both ends and it moves freely now.

another problem is with the waste-gate flush against the bracket and connected to the acuator, the flap is not closed all the way.. does it close under pressure?

will have pictures up soon.

anndddd theres your problem. That needs to be securely closed tight when the wga is hooked up.

i didnt read all the way thru the thread, but what wga is that? can you adjust it to make it shorter? like dub said, the flap has to be closed to build boost
